replied in the thread already LOL

I think finding stories would be a bit hard because there are so many ppl that make SL and impact our experiences on so many levels....

I don't know about success stories, but I could offer names of a considerable number of forum contributors who could do with a lot more tuition in written English . . .

I'm going pessimistic and all by saying, "Oh, so you're posting feel good success stories to the blog, but you won't let Torley announce his actually HELPFUL tutorials there?"

Also, how about some loving for the Relay for Life in SL? It got nearly squat from LL in the way of promoting last time. And it's a wonderful cause that is resident driven!

I picture Katt in a snow white dress with an animated blue bird on her shoulder as she skips along the Linden road humming Disney tunes. While war and carnage rages all around her - she remains in her happy place. I guess the Marketing department has to show their worth somehow. So I'll bite.

Do a piece about Travis Lambert. You could entitle it "no good deed goes unpunished". He pays the tier to keep the Shelter open even when at times he cant even enter his own sim. A Nice guy.

Travis Lambert is a great idea and I'd also suggest Carl Metropolitan who runs New Citizens Inc. (NCI). Both of course are very deserving of coverage since first hour experience for many residents after the islands consists of a trip to NCI and/or The Shelter.... mine did.

Why not feature some one fun? Like Komuso. Wouldn't that attract more people to SL than a 3d wiki? (the wikitree is neat, I am just tryin to make a point)

These seem to be posted on the blog so I'm guessing they're talking about PG people that are "respectable" enough for them to talk about on the blog which I think rules out places like Xcite® which is unfortunate since they're considered to be one of the most successful businesses in SL.

I hardly ever post to these blogs since others always seem to say things better than I could. This blog entry caught me because of the dj gig I have every Sunday morning at the Voodoo Lounge. The reason I started doing this was because of Club School way back in July, 2007. I was in the first class that included manager, host and dj classes, of which I took all three after chatting with Bladyblue Bommerang about her plans to develop her vocational school. That phrase, "vocational school", is significant because that's what it is. I've watched people go through Voodoo by way of Club School for a year and a half, and now I'm seeing names from Club School all over SL. If that's not a vocational school, I don't.know what it is.

I, therefore, nominate Lias Leandros, aka Bladyblue Bommerang to be interviewed in this blog for her part in providing useful skills to SL residents by way of Club School. This school has definitely helped with the SL retention rate. These hundreds of graduates have club families now, a SL income and a transfrerrable skill.

Thank you

Nope. I'm not aware of any connection there at all.

Thanks for answering Katt.
For some reason I thought M was involved in Language Lab before he got hired at Linden Labs.
I guess I am confused. LOL

Thanks for asking about Torley!

Torley's tutorials will be back in the new blogs launching later this month.

Right now they're still being made, and you can find them in the Showcase tutorials section.
http://secondlife.com/showcase/tutorials/

There's also a link to them from the main blog blog.secondlife.com (look at the navigation in the top left.)

RFL is a great suggestion, of course -- always inspirational and fun too.

I know I've seen a singing bluebird somewhere on the grid....

It's a very Disney vision....

Travis Lambert is a great suggestion, and of course so many have been helped by the Shelter, good call!

Hey Katt, Can you please tell Torley I really loved his blog with all his wise
advise?
I really miss it but I figure he is very busy and didn't have time for it.
I wish he make more videos on different aspect of build and texture creating
for new residents and more advance things too.
There is so much to know and it often is difficult to find easy to understand guides especially for those of who are more visual or have learning disablities and don't always
understand written information in Wiki or knowledge base.
He does really great video guides.
His story should be in the spotlight. Disabled folks like myself often have
very little positive role models be in first life or Second life.

It's a good idea - no question that Komuso always makes me glad to be in the audience for his performances!

I will tell Torley you said so!

You can see Torley's Tutorials here: http://secondlife.com/showcase/tutorials

*Torley is still making new tutorials regularly*

You will see Torley blogging again soon, not on the main official blog, but in the new set of blogs we're adding later this month.

That's great, I'm glad to hear how much of a positive experience that was for you and the other students! I'll check it out!
