Since the new auction process started this week, I have been unable to see a way of finding out the closing price for the auctions. Am I missing something obvious or has this ability been removed?

On another note, There is currently a 512 plot with the highest bid at over L50,000! That is over L97/m! And there is still over 8 hours to go before the auction closes.
The Graybar sim must be one heck of a place!!!!

i haven't found that link yet either..... i did login though and added the Graybar 512 plot to my 'watch list' .... mayhaps that way I'll see what the final bid was ...

I can't see it going any higher though .. surely that was a last desparate attempt by one party to get it .. they'd have to reset their max bid to 55 or 60k - for a 512m parcel ? I think I'd just pack up and move to another area .. lol

Thanks for that Elanthius, but I don't think that site provides data for Linden Dollar based auctions. I might be wrong though :)

Make that $55,000L currently for that 512m parcel. Unbelievable. Maybe a war going on between a resident and an ad cutter?

I bet the person that abandoned that lot is kicking themselves.

Actually this is probably the real truth ... they are both perhaps trying to make the other person pay loads. beacuse, of course, if they don't BUY the lot then they'll be charged the fee which I believe is 100$ (Dollars not Lindens) for restocking.

And then of course be able to buy the land cheap when it drops back into Auction.

You looking for land Alt? Whoever that is :)

Hmmmm...that long hiatus and auction action is still lethargic as ever. One just closed for $1600.

Is there a recent closed auctions page anymore on the official auction site?

Not that I can see. Anyone else know where the closed auction info is stored now?

My first thought is the auction is taken over by newbies who don't know any better than to pay those prices .

Once again, LL fixes things for the worse. The closes auction info was and essential part of the old page. I guess they don't want to let people see a history of closed auctions since that would help them to not overpay. ;(

What did you expect from an auction system, efficient markets or sumptin?

People and their bloody expectations that open markets that have existed for centuries should remain that way, sheesh!

I just noticed this myself... that there was no longer any way to see closed auction information from the official website.

Did you know that there is also no way to see previous versions of the TOS on the SL History Wiki or anywhere else for that matter (there used to be a complete listing of every version of the TOS on the wiki)

O... and by the way... we have ALWAYS been at war.

Well, for anyone that missed the auction, that 512 plot went for L60,010:eek:

Also, it seems now we are unable to see the winners's identity even after the auction has ended! Sad day as it will stop Raymond commenting on his favourite land baron ;)

Guess i have to get a life now.

But seriously, I followed closed auctions closely for months before I bought my sim. Helped me make an educated decision and get the most for my money. I wonder if the third party sites will even be able to post the info...

I just tried adding an auction to my Auction Watchlist.
About 10 minutes before the auction was due to close, the system sent me an email.

Dear Sling,

You’ve been on our site recently and chose to put an item on your Watch List to keep track of it. We wanted to let you know that the listing is about to close. If you’re still interested, use the link below to bid right away!

Cochran (224,248) Mature 1024m
Current Price: L$13,500.00
Closes: 9/24/2007 1:15 PM
http://ld.auctions.secondlife.com/scripts/listinginfo.asp?lotno=78998384

If you’d rather, you can also check out the category from this link:
http://ld.auctions.secondlife.com/HTML/Cat238021/Page1.htm
[[[[[

So there's the price.
Maybe in those 10 minutes, there might be a flurry of late bids, but on a sim auction it probably won't go up by more than a few dollars.

Duh!
PDT/GMT - and not enough coffee.
The auction has some hours to run yet. We'll see how close the last reminder and price come to the actual close.

I wonder if Bragg-wise, the lot auction URL remains accessible even after the link disappears from the main auction page.

Yes, it does. That is how I found out the final price of the incredibly expensive 512 a couple of days ago.
However, I did not get a reminder email, but that could have been because I only added the auction to my watchlist a couple of hours before the end.
