Are these all Stolen/Copy Botted items on this Xstreet search page?

The past several days I have seen a featured item on Xstreet: https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=1344964 - Sculpted shoes with sculpted toes and feet. And they only cost $99L; whereas if you go to J's or Moody's (bleh) you are paying up to 3k almost.

SO, i did a broader search here: https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&SearchKeyword=sculpted+feet&SearchLocale=0&SearchPriceMin=&SearchPriceMax=&SearchRatingMin=&SearchRatingMax=&sort=&dir=asc And starting at the top of the screen, from left to right are all the same style shoe, same scultpy feet and toes and similar super low price. What the heck? Is there some sculpty shoe/toe/feet full perm kit making its rounds and these content creators are all using it, or are these all just stolen copy variants with some extra bells/whistles?

I generally do not scream the Sky is Falling, but mein gott is copying really so bad that all these people are doing it and getting away with it on XSL?

What am i missing here? Are these legitimate? If so why are they all the same? Is it some full perm kit?

If it is a full perm and legal kit, i am gobsmacked at the lack of creativity being displayed, and equally gobsmacked if they are actually all stolen/copy botted items.

What gives?

From another thread it was recommended to buy's J's shoes which I did. The responders gave opinions on both products. J's was much cheaper and I must say nicer than the other product. They even posted pictures to boot. So I saved quite a bit a money. Alright, I did buy a pair of what I am going to use the phrase "generic " Moody's shoes.

Let me just put it like this, for me whether they are 99L or 3000L the end result was the same and underscored some of the recommendations from those postings. Only difference, it was just 2901L cheaper.

When I get home I am going to see if they are transferable and I will give them away to a new citizen.

Don't. Copybot is a real problem and she's just looking out for content creators out there..

Thanks for posting here, eku - good to know that these great shoes are legit.

Not familiar with this case, but I can confirm that copybotting happens quite a bit, and products often turn up on XStreetSL, yes. It's something we almost constantly battle with.

So many are so accustomed to using the term "COPYBOT" so freely now that it is really a shame.

Stilletto Moody isn't the only person that's capable of making a shoe with a sculpted foot just for those in the lack of "know" and there are actually some very talented sculptors coming on the scene nowdays. (Im not one of em of course)
...But yes I do use some builders packs from Xstreet but I never build them "Right out of the Box" and will attempt to be a little more creative and mix -n-match different things of sort to give it some sense of my twisted imagination.

I'm still dumbfounded as to why people are so eager to go on witch-hunts in SL vs just keeping quiet on things in question and reporting them instead via the AR system or simply notifying the person that you suspect is the original creator?

Eku Zhong is one of the many talented sculptors that do offer builders packs and there are numerous others that do so as well. Frankly, I don't wonder about the origin of the pack that she sells being that anyone can find the exact same shoe somewhere on the internet on shoe websites, other 3D Content sites etc....

I have yet to see a sculptor of shoes here in SL create an original brain designed shoe model LOL!...ALL sculptors use some form of a Real LIfe picture to reference by (for those not in the know of course).

So before we use the horrid term "Copybot" let's do some research and see what's really happening before making nasty accusations.

Btw..did ya know that some top shoe sellers even use models purchased from turbosquid and sell them inworld and have nerve to COPYRIGHT an item that is already copywrited and claim to be the original creators? LOL just thought i'd put some in the know ....

If i had seen the shoes were Eku's i would have had faith they were honest in their origins.

Well it's not really "Holy Wisdom" as your blogginess has deemed so. It's more of "Fact" that people should actually do legwork and get the facts before making accusations against another.

Better yet, why even blog on it? Why not sculpt a shoe instead?
Have a great day Briannnnnnnna!

Sincerely,

Your Holyness

Blog?

Who blogs?

Speaking of getting facts.... That is what this post was about. And inquiry was made, an investigation happened, the information was posted, no alarm was sounded.

You are the only one making an accusations here, so far. Duh...

And i don't sculpt a shoe because i have no sculpting skills. One again, duh...

So uh, get your facts straight. :D

See ya, B. :D

Wait a minute...

Saying that i am curious as to the origins of an item is an accusation???

Well, either i need to re-attend English literacy class or you do not know the difference between a state of curiosity, i.e. "wondering", versus a state of blame, i.e. "accusing". And yet again, i am thinking the latter.

ETA: Duhhhhhh...... :p

It isn't the Queen's English that needs clarification.

Pep (It is the meaning of the words written "between the lines";)

to whomever created the prim-toed shoes.... THANK YOU.

to whomever saw the idea, and made it better/cheaper. THANK YOU.

just because someone is making something quite similar doesn't automatically make them a copybotter.

If you were curious about the origin of the pack why did you not just click the link supplied and see it was made by Eku instead of making a pretty obvious implication that the pack was somehow illegal.

Hi eku

The only problem with the shoes attaching at the lower leg is it takes away that attachment point for other uses

(I bought a pair of the 25L ones just to see how they looked, you did a nice job, but the seller did a crappy job putting them together)

anywho... when you attach to the lower leg, then the wearer can not use lower leg attachments such as pants cuffs.
Since the seller I got them from was selling them mod, (and with 2 attachment per foot, lower leg for the shoe, and foot for invisible prim (huh) I modded by combining the shoe and reattached (but I think it is still attached to the leg, not sure and can't log in to check)

When I am in world again I am gonna tweak with them and see how they look attached to the foot.

Again, you did nice work (sadly I can not afford your price for the full perm pack, been drooling over them.)

I did pick up toes from another seller, which I really really like, been trying to add them to some shoes to see how they look, but I need the color change script, similar to what J's uses, so the toe color can be customized, and the toe ring can be made to hide, etc

I am not a scripter so it will be awhile. heh

If it is the one I think you mean, I have heard this too.

So I did some searching on turbosquid, and lo and behold, some of the shoes there, appear to be exact matches for some of the shoes at a certain very expensive, do not allow demo's, SL store.

I do not see why people would pay more than a few hundred to several hundred linden for some shoes. There is not much they can do to differentiate one from another as far as style goes in the long run.

I think the most expensive shoes i own are $595 and those are Pornstars & Dunks and chock full of scripted customizable goodness. Scripted features are worth a little extra when your shoe can take on so many different looks.
