Sadly the Laurentia Tower is currently inaccessible..due to a 'minor error' on my part..

This is just a little embarrassing :p..there I was experimenting with how best to select all the prims in a build (you're probably one step ahead of me at this point)..meant to hit 'esc' to cancel the command..but hit 'delete' instead (yes they are at opposite ends of the keyboard aren't they..doh!!)

I do appear to have four 'blocks' in my trash which I assume is the tower (actually it's only the top 600m that got neuked)..so I'll just rez them again..move them into position and everything'll be just fine..piece of cake!!

Apologies for the inconvenience..Perre..:o

Looking for wonderful places and the name certainly is intriguing- plug for yourself please. What is this tower?

If it doesn't work out fixing it. It is possible to ask concierge service for a 'rollback'. But don't expect it to happen soon.

Hmmm..I thought I'd found the answer..objects in trash have a 'restore' facility..sadly not into SL but into your inventory. Might have a chat with concierge help about roll back though thanks Damanios.

It's (was) a SL mega-structure (tower with spiral staircase) standing 1500m above Laurentia, involved heavy duty walking boots, a head for heights and plenty of time..oh and there was a free T shirt waiting for you when you got to the top (but not any more).

See thread..'Is it THAT tall' (or words to that effect) probably around page 3 or 4 of this forum for more details.

Perre..

Other than the walk and the T-shirt- was there anything else to recommend the visit? I don't mean that to sound bad- honest- I am just wondering if you had like look out areas- something to break up the long climb? Do you have pictures you might post? Thanks :)

Yep..balconies every 100m..pics in the other thread and a movie link from Infrared Wind.

I've had a chat with concierge support and hopefully Laurentia will get a roll back shortly. I figured there was no way I could rez the blocks..move them into place and perfectly align them with the remaining structure. Apparently the deleted section consisted of 3000 prims..not the easiest thing to move.

Possibly not the best place to visit during roll back..

Possible, but nearly impossible, and not very likely.

Hey, congrats, they're usually not accommodating at all on rollbacks!

Perre, didn't your mummy ever tell you that if you played with it, it would drop off? :p

I really hope you get the rollback soon. I never got round to going up for the third time to try the ultimate flying experience thing.

"Great news everyone" (to be read in a Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth - Futurama - sort of a voice)

Those nice people at Linden Labs have rolled back Laurentia and the Laurentia Tower stands once again..here's a pic to prove it..

So the Laurentia Tower's open once again..seems a shame we're going to blow it up in a week or so..oh well

Enjoy..Perre..:D

I visited last night. Very impressive. It's way taller than I can set my draw distance, that's for sure.

I totally missed the other thread about it (for some reason I thought it was a thread about tall AV's and never opened it). The tower looks awesome, I am going to check it out tonight. Is the destruction of it going to be open to the public?

Well I was going to simply delete it (bit like I did earlier today)..however several readers suggested I de-link it then turn it physical..kaboom!! So it would be a shame to keep all the fun to myself..so yes - assuming hundreds don't turn up - it'll be an open event.

Date and time to be decided..keep an eye on the forum for future announcements.

Seems like a lot of hassle over something that was going to be destroyed anyways.

I meant getting a Linden to do a rollback and crying about accidentally deleting it in the forums.
