The only thing that makes this difficult to answer is the friendships you gain are just as important in SL as in RL, but my RL commitments are far more important, ie. work, school, and family/friends.

My first life takes precedence over anything virtual. Although I am an admitted geekstress, SL is my hobby. The very few close friends I've made can all be easily found outside of SL. Should this place implode tomorrow, I'd suffer some twitching....probably develop a tic and would be very, very hard to get along with for a few days or a week or a couple of months, or until something came along that could pacify that need to feed my inner geek, but I'd live.

Well obviously I could not have a SL™ with out a RL♥. Having said that. Who wouldn’t want to live the life of a Second Life® avatar?

i would miss the sensation of touch. and everything would taste like chicken.

SL really needs touch-o-tron(TM)

in fact if they want to give us that they can add a crash every day at 6pm

And how do you know that avatars don’t feel? Hmm!
Do they not smile with the joy of taking a snapshot? Do they not laugh, and cry and dance? Do they not “Tremble with your gentle touch”? I’ve seen them say just those words.
And food IS optional! Mine’s not eaten any of the pizza put in front of him or drank any of those mugs of beer. But still he remains healthy and vibrant.

Not to mention the rather verbose intimate bits...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I think DKs only concern would be running out of $Ls to feed his veracious apatite for blowing money. And campings just not his style. And god forbid he keep a decent job for any period of time. So without me supporting his sorry ass with RL♥ cash, he would whither away to a pile of flexyless pixel dust. Ungrateful @*#! …

That last part is no good. I'd really miss pizza and beer. We don't know for sure if everything would taste like chicken. I might try chicken-flavored beer once just for the novelty, but I have a feeling I'd go right back to beer-flavored beer pretty quickly.

I'm ok with touch and certain smells, but I have a feeling my home port, the Hanson Infohub, smells a lot like beer nuts and shame. Smelling it would make it lose some of its appeal.

Speaking of beer but just a tad off topic. Has anyone noticed now that more people are using Voice just how many drunks there are in SL™?
No need to answer that. Just an observation.
Time for me to head home.

I just Couldnt vote.

Cause sometimes I want SL out in RL and sometimes SL is frustrating but so is RL. And yes my RL comes first otherwise I wouldnt make enough money to finance my SL life.

But.........

I met my handsome man in SL so I definately wouldnt want to lose that, sure we could stay in touch with each other in other ways but in SL I can sit and talk with him or go dancing or go exploring, sure not as good as the "real thing" but somehow it is nice, and normalish.

A few of my friends that are in SL are my friends in RL, so that might not be too bad of a problem. Would miss the ones that I made friends with in there though. I met some great people.

And I am sure if SL ceased to exist well sooner or later they would release me from the psych ward wouldnt they? I mean they can't hold me indefinately, right?

Hmmmm going to have to think on this. Walking away mumbling to oneself.

I'm like Isabeau; SL is part of my real life. It's my job and my hobby. I love creating things in sl and I get most of my social life with people outside of sl. But I consider the people I know in and through sl to be rl people. I enjoy working and occasionally playing with them. Even the ones who I know are quite different in rl (for instance people who are furries in sl) I consider to be regular real life people with extra interesting aspects.

Real life is where I have a boyfriend, a mom, my church, my choir. Second life is where I can bring together my artistic and computer skills and make neat things and make real money. That is important and is certainly changing my real life. Its all my life. I don't make distinctions or comparisons because I do very different things in SL from what I do outside of it.

RL takes priority. No matter what.
But i would hate to leave SL. It is a part of my life, and it is a way of contacting friends online etc. I would miss it terribly if I couldn't get online.

There are lot of things I would love to take over to RL, and sometimes I have just wished I could step through the screen and live in SL.

oh, and i have never, not once, been on SL when I have had alcohol....never mind on voice. You would prolly be able to tell if i had done.

I'd like weight loss, hair restyling and shoe shopping to be as easy. Otherwise, don't be silly, it's RL!

SL is a means to an end anyway :) As well as an end in itself.
