Sign Violation?

I've reported this sign violation twice over the last few weeks and it's still there. I thought this kind of overzealous use of signage was banned by LL. Has something recently changed?

Nothing has changed - not even LL's speed or desire to deal with it. Try getting some else to AR them as well - that seems to work sometimes.

Setting my cousin's redneck trailer near the property line always cured that. Especially if my cousin lived in it, with his other cousins.

Usually if you get another person to AR it too, things move more quickly.

I am not now, nor have I ever been Mickey's cousin.

It is my assumption that ad farm and encroachment issues are very much the bottom of the stack. I've known of some that have existed for months now.

I usually can get those removed fairly quickly when I AR them.

There are groups in SL dedicated to improving the look and integrity of the grid. Join one, and tell them where the item is, and you should get several people dropping by to help you in an AR party.

You can have a redneck trailer and your cousin. Get me the Trailer Park Boys and let them move in next door to the problem landowner! If that doesn’t work you know your screwed.

I thought that where you lived *everyone* was everyone else's cousin.

At the time of the Great Adfarming Purge, they couldn't move quickly enough. Now they couldn't care less, it seems. All manner of spinning signs and advertisements appear to be on the increase.

Counter to what others are seeing, I've found that they're responding pretty quickly to adfarming ARs, based on a little burst of ARs I filed yesterday.

I checked back on a couple sign clusters that I reported in conjunction with Arbor Project, and they're gone this morning.

I also AR'd a fresh one in my backyard that I doubt anybody else reported. (It was probably too much to hope that they'd also as I requested force-abandon the parcel, listed at L$10,000 for a 16.)

I also had success with a land fraud AR of one notorious adfarm group for having no contributed tier. It appears that all former MyADCOM 16s were force-abandoned overnight and are now eligible for reclaiming to adjacent parcels, by support ticket, which may be of some interest to neighbors.

Not so successful with one for Perfumed Garden Models, which now also has no tier contributed to that group. They've been running under-tiered for a year (possibly off-and-on, not sure), despite ARs, support tickets, emails, and notecards to Jack and Harry. So I'm guessing they have photos of Mitch with a hooker.

On the other hand, the ad itself disappeared, although I'm not sure it was actually in violation of the adfarming policy--that wasn't what I was trying to report, anyway.

I do agree that as long as there are microparcels, we're having to remain vigilant--it *does* seem that there's a renewed increase in the number of sign violations, and I really don't know why.

It seems that pretty much any resident issue is bottom of the stack right now, as well as bots and server performance. I wonder what is at the top of the stack -- or even mid-way down the stack.

I see your L$10,000 16 sq m and raise you a L$15,000 16 sq m!

Don't expect this one to sell or be acted on any time soon either.
Just realized my post only told half the story I'd intended about this particular case. In fact, LL *did* remove a huge floating, spinning For Sale sign, overnight after I AR'd it. I didn't really expect they'd do anything about the L$10K parcel itself: it's the only 16sq.m. that group owns, so it's not like they're going to get one of those mysterious private chats with LL any time soon. I can imagine situations where it would be more than an annoyance, but in this case, I can live with it as long as it takes for the owner to die off, I expect. I've outlasted dozens of the bastards on that sim alone.

Yes Qie, my bargain neighbour 16 does sport a rather tacky tree but at least it is unlikely to be snapped up for one of the latest scourges of one per region ugly ads that have sprouted up everywhere.

Lindens have told me that they will remove -new- micros, but old micros only get removed if they also violate some additional policy, or the account owning them goes away.

It took me several ARs, tickets, and meetings with Lindens to get that stated to me, but once said, it explained a lot of the conduct I was seeing on their part in response to ARs I'd been putting in over various plots.

After a couple of those sprang up in a region I've been slowly reclaiming I caved and paid well over the odds to get the last few small parcels.
Ouch! Not that I don't know the feeling: just pay the price and make the muthaf'ckers go away. But of course it only encourages them--to put up some hideous "advertising" prims on some parcels, and get their alts to set up the others for extortion. So that's why you're seeing those "ads"--to make you cave and buy the alts' for sale parcels.

It really helps to nurture a healthy revulsion for the vile slimeballs that are still doing the same crap to the Mainland, just with a slightly more subdued palette of excrement.

This is one case where one should hate the person more than the deed.
