Here's a thought, but it will still require a little work on your part...

Someone who is a short-term guest couled be added by any resident, and ends up in the "Everyone" role. In the definition for the role, you strip that one of every permission except the ability to receive group notices. Make sure all residents know you'll cull once a month any person who is in no group role other than the Everyone role.

A friend who may return frequently can ask to be added to the "Guests" role. These don't get culled on any regular basis. Depending on your setup, you might allow "Residents" to be able to add people to this role. But more likely you have them drop a notecard to you or to one of your group officers, asking for the guest to be added to the Guests role.

Someone who actually *lives* there is in a "Residents" role, with the extra role permissions they need, like being able to set a home point there.

out of curiosity what was the reason for restricting it to group access only to begin with? that may help come up with solutions easier

Well, I am overwhelmed by all your feedbacks! Coming back to the last question: We restrict access because we do not want strangers walking through our bedrooms :-)
Deleting everybody not in a specific role at the end of the month may be a solution, I will also try to develop a script for inviting guests for an hour or so.
Many thanks, Violet

I have the same issue (I don't class it as a problem). Is there really a need to delete them? Just think, if you are a landlord there are a load of people going around with your Group name in their profile. That's why my Group name states that it's a rental group i.e. I'm getting free advertising however modest it is.

One solution would be to change the group every 6mths to a year to a similar name and then send out a group notice to the "everyones" informing that they will have to join the new group to have continued access, but unless it's a problem why bother?

I restrict building, object entry, and script privileges to group to prevent litter and stop most forms of grief. Guests can rez objects, but they are not allowed to set home, or change the media. Residents have more powers, including those two above. It's worked out well for me, with minimal deletion.
