Is this a bot? What is she doing?

I'm curious about what's going on here:

Every day, many many times a day, I get a woman appearing at the tele-hub in the Devolin Mal sim. Here's the list of everything I notice about her:

Different avie every time
Always Female
Has nice hair and skin (doesn't look like defult newbie)
Has a real name (no numbers or garbage text: name is pronouncable)
Usually has Missing Textures for clothes
Always born in Feb 2008
Nothing in her profile
No payment info on file
Never moves
Never says anything or answers any questions
Doesn't say anything to any of my alts either (so probably not spamming rental visitors)
Leaves after 5 or 10 minutes.

This is a welcome area, so it's a very public place; not like my house or anything. She doesn't seem to be doing anything but upping my traffic count. What do you think this is? I can't think of anything malicious she might be doing, but that's why I'm asking.

You mention she doesn't say anything, doesn't respond to you? You have tried talking to her right? What about an IM?

I saw once one av that has been in the same place for a month mostly, i sent him a friend request and after that month he declined it...but was always online...very strange.

I knew a guy like that in Hanja... After running by him with my "Konnichiwa" gesture every day for about two weeks, he finally said "Hiya!" once. Maybe some people just like to watch. (^_^)

Could be using something like Ajax just to IM with friends from someplace that does not allow SL, but allows internet

Different avie every time: How can anyone know a person is using a different avie every time? Other then using the same name which you can't do there's no way to tell.

Always female: I thought there was more then one female in sl. Shows you what I know.

Nothing in her profile: Her and about thousands of others too

Has a real name: Gee, they should hang her for that crime.

No payment file on info: Wow! This is a first.

Never moves: How does she get to this place? Uses a new gadget maybe?

Never says anything or answers questions; Are people required to fill out questionaires in this place?

Doesn't say anything to any of my alts either: If I was near you, neither would I. And I'm guessing neither does everyone who goes to this place.

Leaves after five or ten mins: So then whats the problem? This person isn't hanging around long enough to do anything.

There's a welcome area? Well, it doesn't seem to be much of a welcome if people are being scrutinized simply for being there as shown above, now does it?

Maybe you just have too much time on your hands.

Did you check the owners og objects on your land to make sure they are not leaving "presents"?

No, as you failed to answer the "always born in Feb 2008" issue, which was by far the most important one.

Are you saying it's the same person running all of these accounts? If so how do you know? If not, I misinterpreted what you were saying. Have you ever had camping of lucky chairs on the property? What was there before you? Was it something that might attract bots? How's the lag? Any complaints about people crashing a lot on your property?

These are the only things I can think of. Camping bots aren't usually dressed in anything other than the default Linden junk. Maybe your location got listed as having Lucky Chairs and a few groups have latched onto that. Don't know why she wouldn't respond, though. maybe no English?

A lot of people use the term avie to mean the outfit or clothing an avatar wears. So saying different avie every time means their appearance is different every time, not that it is, in fact, a completely different avatar. I know the terminology is confusing, but it's fairly common in usage.

And how long did it take you, the most paranoid and mistrusting person in all the forums, to type out this hypocritical piece of garbage?

The personal vendetta is pretty transparent, Ricardo. You're not going to fool everyone in the forums into disliking me.

Trout, I'm not sure: I suspect it's the same person because of all the similar characteristics. That's all good stuff to consider. I'm just trying to explore all possibilities. I generally don't care what people want to do on my land as long as they're not hurting anything.

@ Straif: I don't think she's hooking, because she doesn't interact with anyone (and she's the wrong gender to be hooking in this sim. LOL)

Good point, I had forgotten about that - but how many people sign up camping bots through CSI/OnRez? Plus, those bots are usually numbered Bob23 Recreant, Bob 24 Recreant, Bob 25 Recreant, etc. Campbot runners aren't the brightest, most creative people in SL - that's why they run campbots instead of making a living being intelligent and creative.

I don't know what this person is doing on Avion's land, but like he said, if she isn't doing any harm, then it's just a matter of interest and not a big deal.

Several months ago we had a series of bots visit my estate. I didn't know they were bots at first. Some were male, some were female. They'd appear, and typically they'd sit on the nearest prim that had a sit target. You could try and talk to them or IM them but invariably they would be unresponsive. Now and then though one would actually reply, but I suspect it was if the typist happened actually to be there at the moment. When you did get a reply it was almost always the same -- X is waiting to meet Y here because it's such a lovely place.

This went on for a few weeks till we discovered their true game. They were rezzing tiny invisible chat spies on property that allowed public build, then moving to a different part of the sim to sit and 'listen'.

We never figured out who they were spying on, or who was actually behind them. At first we just banned them when we found them, but later we turned damage on and made sure only group members could build, and took up bot-hunting for a while. It was kind of fun actually - when a stranger TPed into the sim and did anything mildly suspicious (poking around residential lots, etc) a half dozen residents would descend on them and strike up conversation to see if it was a bot or not. No response? KABLAMMO! Ah, memories... Although I don't think we actually found any more spybots, they'd given up by then. I don't remember blasting anybody...just talking with a lot of startled explorers.

Anyways, that sort of thing has left me highly suspicious of all bots.

Could be that your place was a dumping point from Help Island at some point in February and these people never reset their homes to someplace else.

I already mentioned that in my 1st post, Puppet, that all I can tell I'm getting out of it is free traffic. If she's not harming anything, then I don't care.

But I'm sure you would be suspicious, or at least curious, if every single time you logged in or passed by, another of this person's apparent bot army was doing its business there. This has been going on for a whole month, before I finally decided to ask the community if anyone knows what the deal is.

People, most likely innocently coming by just for a few minutes and here you're seeing all kinds of signs that are obviously pushing you over the edge. Clearly, you're not well. I worry about you. Are you also hearing voices? Don't be a shame, just say it.

There was no paranoia or anything of the sort in your post. Naturally anyone would be curious and given some of the odd things that occur in SL you simply asked if there's something nefarious that could be going on. You made it plain and clear that if not you couldn't care less. I don't know why anyone would read more than that in your post unless they are looking for an argument or debate without merit.
