From: Pyrite Sopwith ... Failing to clear the cache can lead to lagging if the cache accumulates and eventually it eats up the PC user's virtual memory. .... Unless the application that is using the cache has a memory leak, this will not ever happen. From: Pyrite Sopwith ... So, do all of us a favour and please - remember to clear the group and user cache every night before logging off, and you'll see positive results the next time you log in. This is not necessarily true. Cache has a purpose and clearing it too frequently can cause other issues - especially if you tend to go to the same places a lot in SL. Definition of cache: 1) A small, fast memory holding recently accessed data, designed to speed up subsequent access to the same data. Typically used between a processor and main memory. 2) A temporary storage area for frequently-accessed or recently-accessed data. Having certain data stored in cache speeds up the operation of the computer.

From: LittleMe Jewell This is not necessarily true. Cache has a purpose and clearing it too frequently can cause other issues - especially if you tend to go to the same places a lot in SL. So how often is enough to clear the cache in SL? Every 3 days? Once weekly?
