Here is my situation.....

A neighbor that I have NEVER met or spoken to, that also owns a land holding group, decided to intimidate me and took a picture of himself IN my house and has blown it up and placed it on the edge of his land, facing mine.

Of course, I filed the AR, but the picture remains. Am I stuck with this until he decides to go annoy someone else?

If you have a premium account, file a support ticket. (Click support here on the main website)

You can also file one on behalf of an alt, if the avatar it happened to is an alt and you have a different account which IS premium.

The AR system is currently very hit and miss. Sometimes dealt with very quickly, other times they get ignored. If it has not been dealt with within 24 hours, it has been ignored (as informed by LL on several occations).

If you are "lucky" enough to have the AR looked at by a Linden in the next 24 hours, then it should be removed. If not, you have to keep ARing it every 24 hours until one of the good Lindens takes a look and does.

Might be worth you trying to make sure it's dealt within in the next 27 days - once zindra is fully open, I doubt LL will manage with the deluge of AR reports from the small minority of residents that just want to live in a "wrapped in cotton wool" teletubby land.

Other than that - you are stuck with it - sorry.

There are some very odd people in SL. It reminded me of a time when I actually had a home that I used - a skybox. I was in it one day when a neighbor flew up. The outside walls were opaque so he couldn't see inside without camming in. The next moment he was inside, a few yards from me, and with a huge gun. So I ejected him. He didn't take kindly to that at all.

He flew up again and shouted some silly stuff that was supposed to make me quake in my boots. Then he rezzed a platform not many meters from the skybox and I stood on the my roof and watched while he literally built some canons that pointed at my skybox :) Then he just stood there facing the skybox. After that he would occasionally fly up and stand there facing the skybox. I thought it funny that someone would do something as stupid as that. There are some very odd people in SL :)

It can happen, the sensor range is a perfect circle so overlap is almost guaranteed. Most systems will just spam you to death with the "get lost "Dialog messages , but some are more aggresssively scripted.

A 0 time delay for TP is not allowed in any case.

yes I've gotten bounced home from my own land before, and like an ass I had to go back and check to see if maybe it was just that some of me was over the line but nope, I was just inside my border. I have gotten warnings several times when riding on SL roads too.

i haven't had one in a while..but mine used to do a scan like a radar and only warn you and kick you when you were inside my land..i would think the people next door would get pretty tired of it if i had my orb spamming them with warnings all the time..
there were not many orbs when i got mine though..it is one of the older ones..i think sphytek or something like that..it's been so long i can't even remember the name lol

That is rather strange. You can always put up a prim on your land to block the view of his prim, texture it on your side with something pleasant, trees perhaps. I'm not aware of any previous rulings by Linden Labs that prohibits what he has done other then it is a mild form of harrasment.

take a picture of the picture of him in your house. Then paint an apron onto it, and put a spatula/fry pan/feather duster in his hand. Then paste it onto a prim facing his house.

When I was still pretty much a newbie, I got a security system for my land and thought I understood what I was doing. I was wrong, and one of my poor neighbors kept getting kicked on one small corner of her land. Fortunately, she was friendly enough to send me a message telling me what was happening and asking me to fix it. With her help, and that of the company I bought my land from, we were able to reconfigure the system to limit itself to my parcel only - even with the circular coverage scan area.

I use Psyke's PDS HomeSecurity orbs - they're easily configured and bonus - Psyke gives great support if you're as easily confused as I am. LOL

Some security systems also have a way of "squaring" the scan area, it has something to do with configuring the coordinates of various corners of your land into the system. I haven't done that before. But I know the orbs I use can be "told" to not scan/take action over "foreign soil" - meaning it won't screw with your neighbor on their land.

lol i would put that picture on all four sides of my land..there would have to be this really great comic bubble coming out of his mouth..maybe a picture of Micheal Jackson in the back..
by the time i was done it would look something along the lines of this example..better quality though since this is very old lol

Or....create a child avatar, take a pic of it naked, paste it into his pic and send the whole thing to LL.

As long as no avatar names are given away in the posts, the image or the image name, sure, why not? It's not like avatars are really unique. Especially when dealing with other men, I have to see the name before I know who it is, they're all dressed like either bikers, gangsters or vampires :D

Well gee, maybe THAT person could have invested the time he spent pulling that lame stunt into IM'ing me so that I could adjust my system.
