Hello again,
I'm very conscious that I seem to be bringing this subject up quite often, but .......
as a newbie male I've just bought myself my first male bits. I was in a shopping centre, it was quiet, I had money blah blah blah.
Anyway, it's in my inventory in a little brown box and when I right click and select 'wear' I end up carrying an enormous carrier bag with a picture of a ...... well with a picture on it.
I think I need to unpack my shopping and then fiddle around with it but I can't work it out so I'm looking for a liberal minded individual for assistance!
Somehow I never could have imagined myself asking these sorts of questions on a forum???

LOL. Sandy, just drag the box to the ground and then right click and choose open. You're then given the option of transferring the 'contents' to your inventory. When that done, right click on aforesaid 'contents' (give a name, as in 'my friends appendage' ) and then choose wear. Good luck EDIT: to add drag the box to the ground from your inventory. Or if you're still wearing it - lol - then right click and choose drop

Hahaha. Great story. You're now officially no longer a newbie since you've worn a box. Everyone does that in the beginning.
Looks like Chas beat me to the punch on answering the question by a few seconds. Yeah, just drag the package to the ground, and then extract its contents to your inventory. They really need to come up with a more obvious way to make unpackaging work.

Welcome to your right of passage, Sandy.
Once you get it attached, you can adjust its position and angle with right click, edit. But they usually come out very close, depending on your shape.
If this one has an HUD, you'll probably need to choose "wear" for that also. Let us know if you need help with that.

From: Sandy Carver Just out of curiosity, how does it ...... you know ........ do what nature intended? For that, you'll have to ask whomever made it. Examine its contents (right click on it -> Edit -> More -> Contents tab) and see if it has a script inside. If it does, then it does something, but exactly what, we have no way of knowing here. It could be anything. Did it come with instructions?

Just out of curiosity, how does it ...... you know ........ do what nature intended? Sandy, Every model is different. Some don't even do what nature intended. But most are either run by a menu from clicking directly, or by an HUD.

Just out of curiosity, how does it ...... you know ........ do what nature intended? Erm, not quite sure how to answer this one. ROFL. Depending on the sophistication of your particular appendage (now there's a sentence I never thought I'd write!), you either just wear it and let the couple animations do the work, ie if you have a freebie appendage. More upmarket and potentially 'matching' appendages can be controled using a HUD, as in the Xcite appendages. Watch out, these can also be controlled by other people with HUDs if you don't have it locked down (eek!). These more sophisticated ones come with pretty detailed instructions. Xcite even has a website.lol What kind of appendage did YOU buy?

Oh my god that made my laugh! Chas, you're funny.
I bought the fanciest most expensive one I could find (I'm sure there are ones MUCH more expensive) that had all sorts of features!! It seemed like a good idea at the time!
Anyway, it has a HUD which I managed to work and .... well...... I blushed. I have to admit that I wasn't ready for that!!
Now I wish I'd gone for a more basic, beginners model!!
On a lighter note, wasn't that guy playing the keyboards last night brilliant??!!

That's the one! Fable was good too.
Sally, next time you're feeling like helping out a lost soul, I was trying to buy a 'dance' this morning and also a 'walk' without any joy. Luckily for you I managed to tick off the other items on my shopping list!!!
It would be great if you could help

Yeah, Djai is cool. Damn shame I crashed and couldn't get back on. P.S. a good 'appendage' is a solid investment. We all have to learn how to use them, even in RL

don't forget to pick up your box when you are done. otherwise, everyone walking by can inspect it and see who just bought the latest man bits.

And you need to find Carli, so she can tell you if you match or not.

most uh appendages are scripted and flexi but hopefully not floppy flexi
(that wasn't very helpful was it but it was an attempt at answering the how they are relistically working without blushing to much..)
*backs away from the thread and runs*

didya get one that matches? I don't know! I sort of forgot to get undressed. I was actually hiding behind a hut at the time and felt very self conscious. You'd think they'd some sort of changing room wouldn't you??? If I ever find somewhere secluded I'll have another look lol

Sandy, the is a rather private changing room called The Lair (I believe) which is up in the sky somewhere. Search for it. It's quite nice (actually, it's stunning), not a lot of people know about it and you can rez boxes there. I used to use it extensively but I now have a home to go to so I don't need it. I never used to talk about it much because I wanted to keep it all to myself! It's for men and women although usually only women show up there.
Please, if there are women there when you arrive, just come back another time. I once had some guy who was watching me change, I did not notice him there until a lot of time had elapsed (there are two areas) and it was kind of creepy. I think he was testing out what you want to come there to make sure looks ok lol.
If you have trouble finding it, I'll log in and get you the exact name.

Mine has an extensive menu for matching skin tone. The funniest thing about mine is that it comes in 4 sizes, as if any typical male would choose something other than the biggest one. I don't remember the names, but I'm sure that the range is something like "big," "huge," "enormous," and "gigantic."

This whole conversation is reminding me of the av I saw walking around with an appendage that looked like a hot dog stuck in a bun, that came out of a bubblegum machine no less. Like plastic, no details at all. It was the bottom of the barrel model. But - it was large and he seemed quite proud sporting it!
