after submitting a support ticket over a month ago about a 512 piece of linden land, i finally got a response. it seems LL will be auctioning the land. i looked at the land today and indeed it shows an auction ticket number.
so i went to the auction website and .. nothing.
now i was told that it might take a while for it to "show up" but there was nothing on the website. no US$ auctions. no L$ auctions. not just the one i was looking for ... but NONE.
when i click on the US$ and L$ categories, i get "search did not return any items".
all "ending in one hour" and "ending today" and "just listed" links showed nothing.
i "signed in" also, and the same. no listings at all.
i have not been on the new auction site so i don't know if i am doing anything wrong. am i missing something ... or ... is there no land up for auction today?

doesn't seem to be anything you're doing as i get the same results, or lack thereof. this is curious, as looking at inworld map does show auction land available.
hope we can find an answer soon!

The last few days there has been only one plot on the auction page. I wonder if the new system is having issues...

I have to think this has to be their worst quarter in a long while as far as income goes...

I have to think this has to be their worst quarter in a long while as far as income goes... With them not even adding reclaimed parcels to the auction pages, I'd guess they're not making a ton of money on land lately. Even if they stop growing mainland, I think they'll make decent money on reclaimed land. Maybe not as much as dropping whole sims, especially if it's a manual process to reclaim/auction a parcel, but they'll come out ahead. There's _lots_ of abandoned land out there and they don't have to add hardware to resell it. From: Egon Rothschild after submitting a support ticket over a month ago about a 512 piece of linden land, i finally got a response. it seems LL will be auctioning the land. i looked at the land today and indeed it shows an auction ticket number.
so i went to the auction website and .. nothing. Yep. My support ticket got updated today and some abandoned land I've had my eye on is now owned by the Gov and has an auction id.. Nothing at the auction page, though.

There is a slim chance you can get Guy to set it in your name... i IMed and NCed guy for the past month. no response. leo linden finally responded to my support ticket about this. yay leo! unfortunately, leo told me that because it is 512 m^2, it can't be set to sell directly to me. it must be auctioned. i am led to believe that a smaller plot could be sold directly to someone surrounding or almost surround it. which one of the other two plots i mentioned IS. this less-than-512 one has an absentee landlord. i can only cross my fingers and hope that he does not annually renew next month and his land is reclaimed by "the guv".

I have to think this has to be their worst quarter in a long while as far as income goes... Quite candidly, that is because some of these plots are crap. Plus, I imagine that there is an even greater premium now on mature sims. I wouldn't buy a PG sim for development - because I expect people to do what comes naturally in their homes. Some of the PG sims were decent but I stopped when I saw they were PG. I can't be the only one. Of them all, the most decent sim was Milehouse. Water protected sim with lots of usable land. I bid on this one but stopped when it hit 2k. Maybe that was wise, maybe it wasn't - but in light of how hard it is to get mainland rentals to fill as is, it was probably wise.

Didn't know that - thought that an account only poofed from search if it was was no longer active and wasn't coming back.. (which doesn't include manual intervention from LL.. I assume they could even bring back Starax, if they really wanted to).

From: Sindy Tsure Search in People for his name.. If it doesn't show up (and if the grid isn't acting up) he's gone. actually, he is representative of half a dozen of land owners around me. they are all born in october/november of 2006. all the land around me was "first land" in november of last year. my assumption is they joined sl as annual premium. played for a bit. bought first land. played with that for a bit (all these single 512 plots have nothing to speak of on them; maybe a few trees or a box; nothing else). got bored. left. as far as i can tell, none of these plot has been touched since the first of the year (i've owned land here since november 2006). none of them answer IMs. and all are still within this supposed annual membership. i assume they will not renew and these plots will go to the guv. of course, some of them might not have reduced to basic and may automaticall renew. so i wait ...

Well, if they're in a group that's open to the public, you can join that group and see the last time they were logged in..
LL doesn't nuke the account on the day it expires - you may have another month or so to wait before they poof it, reclaim the land and auction it - the ones I've been looking at had June 06 dates on them.. Then again, LL is changing at least some of this process with the new auction stuff. Could be that they're streamlining the process to get abandoned mainland back into circulation faster.

Yes, there's way too much of that - both at auction and in regular land sales. I was surprised to see Milehouse go back into the auction block (it was previously auctioned before). If I were a guy, I'd have given my left nut to obtain it and keep it at the time of the original auction, as it sits on some protected water. But with the land market in the shape it is, I would not be surprised to see the lower half on the water go fast, and the upper half languish in its terraced ugliness until he drops the price low enough for a landbot to take it. Considering that he got it at over 9L/m2, that's gonna hurt.

you can stop laughing now. Oooookay.. The swap itself isn't too bad - I've offered people that and some extra L$ before when they had a parcel I wanted. That extra L$30k is just a bit silly though, unless this is some ubersweet chunk of real estate. At least he talking, though.. Sounds a bit sleazy so I'd be careful of leaving yourself open to being ripped off - if he was open to a more reasonable offer, don't _buy_ him the other 512 but have him include it in the price of his parcel. That way, there's no chance that he'll take the other land then not sell you his. How badly do you want his land? From: Raymond Figtree Rumor has it that Starax walks among us, quietly and in disguise. /me has heard this. Lots think he's on the Greenies team but it doesn't ring true with me. There is another artist out there (who I will not name) that I suspect is Starax, though. Doesn't matter to me what the new name is, as long as he's back and creating.

How badly do you want his land? i've been around the block for a while. i have swapped with at least 2 of my neighbors. only after i got to know them tho. never had a problem. this guy tho ... i decided it was best to stay away from him. i certainly didn't want to get involved with him financially or land-wise. the reason i was supposed to look for land for him is that he's not in sl much anymore. well, i figured, since his membership is up in late november .. i can wait for his membership to expire and his land go to the guv .. and hopefully to auction near the end of the year. i'm patient. and since i have his ugly build surrounded on 3 sides by a very nice, high, ivy covered stone walls ... it's not too bad. i just thought you'd all get a kick out of the L30K offer. (i know i did)

Mainland auction parcels that I'm intersted in don't show up on the auction page for me either.
Lindens, please fix it.

i think youl find they only release land to balance the lindex rate, and due to the vat thing there has been alot of cashing out and land dumped on the market. therefore they are unable to dump anymore land into the economy until sales catchup to ensure the L$ is not devalued.
