You don't ever have to deed your objects to a group, you only have to set them to the group the land is under.

I think having auto return on should be a given that they should teach on orientation island cause it seems a pretty obvious thing to do. You can set it for any increment and it does what it says in most cases. Auto Returns... lol it doesn't get much simpler than that.

Also particles? LOL they can be turned off easily (ctrl + alt + shift + = )and are no longer annoying and the objects should be easy to find if its your land.

I never have understood why people get so reared up about "griefers".

If they don't effect you in any way then they don't keep griefing you. Giving them any type of forum fuel is probably the worse thing you can do cause then they got what they wanted. Thats probably another thing they should explain on orientation island before they let you leave the island.

I think the main thing for people to know about griefers is to make sure to get your advice from a source you can rely on or you can end up screwing up your objects and land. If you were to deed an object to a group that was no copy you'd be screwed and wouldn't get it back.

I can't believe you are posting here Loki like you didn't just send me that vicious misogynistic IM in world.

In case you did not realise, that 'intolerant' thing was a JOKE (pun? HUMOR?). But in no way did it deserve that IM. You call women you never even met (or anyone) names like that, there is something seriously wrong with you.

Not true, parcel media devices and items that require access to parcel details such as prim counts do require deeding on group owned land.

Not for the sake of the topic in this thread which is auto return. Those need to be set that way for their proper use not for the sake of griefers and auto return.

 You should really have qualified what you meant, as it stands it looked like what I took it for, especially after what I posted.

It was a comment about what the topic was about so it should have been implied. I'm sorry, apparently things need to be much much clearer for some people. . oh wait... adds

A problem that I have had in the past is objects with the root prim on a neighboring parcel intruding into mine. If the parcels owner is awol, it is hard to get the issue reolved without participation from the inworld team.

I don't post on the SL forums because there are the correctors and trolls that seem to come out to police them regularly. I find that most of it is pointless dribble and reading between the lines to find anything of importance can be very difficult and a very timely filtering process. Thanks for proving my point gabriele.

Oh lol.... Thanks for adding your 5000+ posts to the endless amount of bullshit to filter through ..

Yep, in that case, all you can do is AR it and have the in world team remove it. Heck, this is the only AR in which you can SEE results!

If you find objects on Guv Linden's land, AR it. Might as well.. maybe the in world team will tell the programming Lindens to set the default for the autoreturn to 1 when land is abandoned. It'd go a long way in the much touted beautification process of the mainland.

No, autoreturn doesn't work so great for the self-replicating objects. For that you'll need to turn off scripts along with the autoreturn. Gah, that just brought back flashbacks from my first few days as a land owner...

Doesn't really work if they are persistent. They can go to the altitude where scripts are turned on again and self-replicate from there unless object entry is turned off too. I know of nothing short of a Linden that will stop them from replicating up above the restrictions and using up your prim allowance either.

In truth I have had to have the Lindens end a griefer attack once. Those multi-sim attacks are very rare anymore though. Kind of miss it a bit because of the excitement.

I witnessed a few in the roleplay sims I frequented but you are right griefers are not the problem they used to be anymore.

Just adding to the information pot here

Auto-return does nothing against self-replicating objects, they replicate too fast for auto-return to be able to get rid of them.

True. But the method I discovered doesnt require self-replicating. But it does require certain conditions to be met.

Well then I hope they tag you for needless AR, since I have done nothing wrong.

You seem to be insulting any woman here with an opinion, I've noticed. (PS misogynist is exactly the right word for the insults verging on threats that you sent to me. They were female-specific in every instance.)

Why not make the payment the first month's rent?

I have tried that but the way land search works hardly anyone will find the land and people need to see what you are offering or else nobody will be buy/rent/lease whatever it is you have nomatter how good and how cheap it is.
It is all about exposior and not even the most expencive ad can beat the exposior you have with the 1 L$ transfer system.
