A way to silence gestures

I do admit... I delete the chat lines from gestures that I get from other people. (^_^) I'll tolerate anything else. I'm more annoying than annoyed. (=_=)

Thats fine, I'm not saying erase them fully. I'm just saying that you should be able to have a way to just turn down gestures. Silent dancing is creepy, but thats why people tend to include..I dunno...music streaming? Making it not-so-silent.

Still, I just itch to orbit people that do the howl over...and over...and over...and over...

Conversation is a lot better than gestures.

lo...loud gestures in our club are allowed only when music has stopped or voting is coming..not during the streaming! When music is on only chat is allowed, but in other clubs is not like this

I don't get, though, why people even have (or for that matter, make) these LONG gestures with full songs in them. I can't simply mute audio because half the time I'm in an RP sim or playing DmC where I need to be able to hear things. But I'll be listening for the rolling noise or swords clanging and some ass feels the need to play the entire song of "Before He Cheats" or something. Gah.

Forget about clubs,I hate when people do it randomly while out shopping or just hanging around. How annoying. At least at a club,you expect it.

I think some do it to fill in the silence as well(at clubs). However,a good host/ess you should be filling that silence with conversation. It's hard to get people talking sometimes,but it can be done if you annoy them enough.

Yes, very annoying. I hate that stupid female laugh which also adds a snoring sound along with the laugh when it plays. It's bad enough they play it but then many times they continue to play it over and over again.

Not only these sounds but people who begin their lovey dovey conversations in public chat. No one wants to hear that. No one wants to see you telling your partner how much you love them. Save it for private IM's.

These people once they start they won't stop. You're in a club, a romantic setting where it's all couples. Enjoy the music and your conversation with your partner but just between you two. The world doesn't want to hear you going on all night talking about what you feel or what you're doing, what you did during the day or what you ate.

This is even more annoying then sound making gestures. These indiviuals need to be reminded that IM's are their friends which after a short while of listening to them go on and on I do tell them.

This is why I don't go to these type clubs. I rather go to an r&b club with mature indiviuals where you rarely see this type thing going on.

More like oil and vinegar. Amusing conversations and these type clubs don't mix. Well, unless one considers constant lol's for no reasons, loud repeated gesture sounds and a lot of spam of nothings being said amusing.

It's odd. I couldn't find this issue by typing in "VWR-2658" into the JIRA search bar, but when I put "VWR-2658" into Google it came right up...

So it seems alot of people agree that the gestures are getting a bit out of control. Quite frankly, I like alot of the ambience of the areas I go to, and the gestures just drive me nuts.

And once I'm done getting this fixed, I'm going to make "Remove 'Release Keys' Buttom" an option in Preferences. I've never used it, and I keep thinking I have IMs now. Damnit.

Maybe we are agreeing though... All my favorite gestures are shorter than 3 seconds and NOT boosted in volume. I heard the snorting one, I LOLed, I promised myself to never accept it. (^_^)y There's another kid laugh out there that's a whole 20 seconds long. When I met a girl that had it, 5 seconds in, I was like "it's still going? (O_O)" ...... (^_^)

True, but a gestured finger is sooo much more satisfying and it doesn't take very long for them to get the hint.
I always give people using multi-line text pictures the birdy.. I hate those things more than anything.

Yes, and while those are cute, I'm sick of hearing the annoying crying ones, the baby giggling, the snorting laugh, the hoooooo! one, the wolf howl, the whoop whoop...all are short but used over and over and over and over and over and over.

hahaha Thankyou for the exerpt from the club. I have copied and pasted that into a notecard and from now on when i'm feeling especially lonely or want to go to a club..all I have to do is read that and never ever wanna go out again.

I don't think that's a gesture - that's part of the scripted ass. People who leave their bits on to be played with by anyone will have their ass spanked in clubs. This doesn't happen to me because not just anyone can touch my ass.

This post would be so funny outside of the SL context.

I think that they think it really cool and the rest of us share their feeling. Don't ask me how people get this way. It may be something they are born with or learn in childhood but in any case they need to be muted ASAP.

Man, I hear you. I was enjoying a wonderful evening at a formal dance place, using IM with my dance partner. It was a chore not to be distracted by the couple dancing next to us. The submissive female was declaring her slave-hood (or whatever you call it) to the dominant female (not guessing here, their titles were part of this particular narrative, besides the fact that one of them was chained - did I mention this was a very romantic formal dance club?). Their semi-explicit conversation and /me's were so clumsy that I was embarrassed for both of them. I would have preferred if they just howled.

The hilarious part ensued when, after someone else mentioned the club's decor, one of the ladies suggested to the other that they should leave to go to some place that was less noisy!

Are people really that oblivious?

I've always wondered if keeping my sound muted all the time in SL has robbed me of any of the experience...

WOW who wants SL to be a interactionless ghost town of vacant avatars just sharing space.

Surely you should keep it reasonable and maintain consideration and decorum for others.
