Money tree and golden ticket

L$. If it was USD, there would be mobs of people stepping on each other and using heavy weaponry to get competitors out of their way to get at the golden ticket. Hmm that might be fun to see.

I agree completely with Valentino. Money trees helped me out a lot when I was starting out. If they didn't, I wouldn't see any reason to have them. They not only helped financially, but they led me to all kinds of areas that I wouldn't have found otherwise. It's true that alts can abuse the system, but alts can abuse any system. At least with the money trees, the true new players can get some benefit. I've even been able to meet and personally help some of the new players that have shown up at one of my trees. You'll never be able to convince me that money trees are bad for SL. Camping systems, on the other hand, can't die soon enough.

Say what you may, but more times then less the money doesnt get to the real newbies. And how can real newbies get it with all the tree farmers only farmering them? Since most users that are not newbies but oldies in newbie avies. I highly doubt most of the money tree monies ever gets to those that really need it. There needs to be a new system one that doesnt have as many wholes are some cheeses do.

Argos, in my case the 1st ticket i found i was unable to pick and decided then and there to upgrade my account and became premium, but i couldnt pick it, nor could i pick the one i found the next day. At the time being a 2day old newbie and knowing nothing, i assumed it was some sort of delat in the account/payment detail getting passed to the trees. So I have never succesfully picked a golden ticket, it just keeps teeling me "You must have a premium account to pick a golden ticket". Ah well never mind.

As to the tree farmers, well its a way for new folks to make money, its a great idea and i have had immense fun porting about and finding new places to explore where trees were.
As to folks camping them, or tree hopping i cant see anything wrong with that, though this last week i have seen more and more folks just standing at a good tree waiting to grab its next spawn. Despite being a newbie i often help others with tree landmarks that i have found and are not on the tree hud, also many times when i arrive at a tree and someone asks why they cant pick a "payment info on file" tree, i normally just give them the L$ of whats in there and pick it myself, most folks are greatful. Sure i could just pick it and port to the next tree, but i remember how hard it was me 1st few days hehe.

In all i think they are still a great idea, but could use some overhall of the settings.

Well there is many things wrong with that. Because if the farmers are only taking money and not giving it back to the game. That is wrong. Money tree were not ment to be farmed by the same people in diff avies over and over again 24 hours a day 7 days a week.........That why we need a newer and more reliable money system that fairly gives to newbies.

Our money tree is setup to give out double the amount of the average tree, plus the age limit is increased to 90 days, not 30 or 60.

However we have roughly 35k~45k traffic daily and very rarely see the same names picking from the tree. Farmers only work with low traffic trees, places with more REAL and LIVE traffic are too much competition for them.

ok when i said tree camping and hoping wasnt a problem, i was refering to a new player with their first avatar, and i stick to that.

As for people being able to have more than one avatar and picking a tree, thats just plain wrong and I did not mean to appear to support it.

Linden needs to rework the alt creation in such a was as to link all alts to the initial account so the alts age matches the original. That would stop L$ farmers without hindering and folks that want to run extra avatars and would only affect the avatars age and not show the link in any other way. Maybe implement it so that only premium account can create alts, although there will always be those that find ways to make bogus new accounts to "cheat" the system.

Some people keep talking about how the system can be abused by alts, and there needs to be a way to keep alts from doing things that are meant for new players only. Unfortunately, until LL starts requiring DNA samples for each account to verify individuality, there will be ways to abuse any system with alt accounts. Even with the DNA requirement, some will find convenient workarounds.

The way things are headed, look for the DNA requirement to be implemented by the end of July, maybe August.

Someone tree owner like you that really give alot! because dwelling is a factor and as you say repeat pickers are the reason of that issue. One can`t say bad about because you want to give money! Thats the reason for money trees. But there should be a better system that gives money otehr then this outdated system. If the money got the right people I say well.....GREAT! But it doesnt . I had money tree on my land a few times in a period of time and i had a nightmare. ANd nosupport from the creator as well. Only insults and other low remarks. Now Thats why if people are going to use money trees "Wolfen" Trees are the best. Because with Wolfen trees you don`t have money farmers in owners listing and causing all sort of problems.
