The right place to post surveys?

I was, literally, assigned TODAY a 30+ page paper for one of my marketing classes. It's due in eight days. (I could punch him in the throat...right before finals...ugh...)

I need to get 500 people to fill the survey out to get a good idea for an 'interactive entertainment company' customer profile. I need people that have played a tabletop RPG and people that own or work in a store that sells them.

I'm working through spelling errors at the moment, but I thought I should get something up and going for now. I was a wee bit panicked (as you can guess) when I made it.

It's mostly about tabletop RPGs, a little about LARPS, and a little about Second Life. Shouldn't take more than 5 mins. Seriously.

I don't have anything to offer...no Linden or anything like some of these fancy Survey People. I work for a small tabletop company and I'm a college student...no, I'm pretty broke. :) But, you will have my undying gratitude!! :)

So, where is the best place to post this request without pissing off the locals? :) Or should I just move on?

Well, seeing as you aren't new here and you need help and I just so happen to be interested in the topic you are covering, I'm willing to take your survey... Everyone elses posts surveys here, so why not you. >.> At least this isn't from a one-day old newb writing his master's thesis on "Why people playing Second Life had a troubled childhood."

I would think that Resident Answers would be as good a place as any.

A vast majority for those posting surveys here seem to be people new to SL with only one or two post to their credit. Although you may be somewhat new to the forums, I've seen you posting in various threads and would call you a "regular". I'm thinking you should get a friendlier response than most do.

Of course, we do have a few residents grumps that will most likely jump on you anyway, but such is life.

YAY! I was hoping someone would say that!

www.gatewaysofdestiny.com/surveyinfo.html

It will be the only survey I ever post here!! I swear!

/me winces.

If you have a friend or two that you think would fill it out, please pass it their way. I really need Store Owners, too.....people that sell RPG Manuals.

Thank you in advance, Scott Savira, and to anyone else that fills it out. :) Thank you, thank you!

500 people?!?! That's more than they survey to do election forecasts in most states.

Yeah, my professor is the devil. I almost dropped my coffee on myself this morning when I read that in the assignment description. It's going to be a long 8 days.

Just got done taking the survey. Good luck with it :D

EDIT - I took it cause you are interested in the topic. I find it quite interesting myself. Good luck getting 500 people though...

Bunni, this is actually a survey I am quite willing to take, but not sure which one to choose. I certainly wasn't the owner but I worked for about 8 years in a comic book store that sold RPG material, too. I also spent quite a few hours with classic tabletop myself. Tell me which questionnaire is more appropriate in this case.

You know more so than me which one you'd be better suited for.

The business one asks mostly about sales...its shorter, with a few questions about what tabletop games sold best and why you think it did.

Can I be greedy and ask for both? :)

I would recommend NOT using Yahoo for surveys in the future. I had a great deal of trouble submitting it without signing on to yahoo.

I was going to say, the right place to post your survey is to fold it until it is all corners, and then shove it up your....

But then I saw that it was you, Bunni. Instead, take your final report, fold it until it is all corners, and shove it up your *professor's* deposition.

One added to the score. ;)

I dunno... Seems her professor might be in good company! I've pretty much concluded I am NOT going into IT consulting - and I'm only a third of the way through the class!

I took the survey. Curious why it didn't ask how much you spend on Second Life? I don't use RPG's or LARPS at all but sure do spend plenty money on SL.

I took it out of interest... took me a long time to fill in all the RPG's I've played.

/me grins.

The project is 'Write me Business Plan.' He gave us 31 pages of information that should be in there, and we’re suppose to answer everything and turn it in by Wednesday. I fear that it’s going to be huge. And, as it seems I owe Phil an apology cause I am 'throwing together a business plan'. (Sorry Phil!) Lucky for me I have some of it done that I did on my free time, except some graphics and whatnot.

This website: http://www.nickyee.com/daedalus/ has some basic stats about MMOGs (though not really geared to Second Life), and there’s other stuff out there to prove that SL Residents will spend money on SL.

The point is, it’s a three step plan for the business plan I’m working on: Tabletop RPG sold in eBook form, then hard copy form, then trying to take it to SL when the book sales can support SL 'marketing' with Sims for interested people. I have to prove the tabletop market because there are next to no statistics on it as most of the 'big guys' (Hasboro's D&D, etc.) don't publish that stuff for the little guys (like us!) to find.

I'll post a link to the finished product so you can see my spin on the whole thing, later, if you guys want. :)
