The login page says just 2,000 + online. Has anyone actually managed to log in?

Trying, but the login page is just immobile. Says the usual, 'Second Life may appear frozen' and it is! nothing, no movement on the bar at all.

I keep getting the 'something unexpected' message...getting it immediately.

I'm still at the 'logging in.' Have patience.. there are a lot of us addicts trying to get in to the world at the same time. It'd kind of like rush-hour in the big cities at the moment ;)

Meanwhile, I'm looking at LoLcats for mindless fun.

Trying. I was falling into the "loggin in (attempt 1)" hole, which crashes me, but right now I'm sitting at "logging in."

Same here, either get the failed message or hang on the log in screen forever until it fails.

Apparently the phrase "load management" is not in their vocabulary. Or else they just don't care.

OMG...COME ON people!!
Imagine what happens when 40 000 are trying to log on at the same time. Provide those servers that can handle that to LL, and stop whining thereafter

Got on when there were only 52 ppl online. And the fucked thing is? All the good-paying, long-term campspots were already taken, with seconds standing in line. Now that is deeply disturbing, somehow... but, frell, I want a bit of their kharma... :p

I think they don't know how to...

A) Use Load Management.
B) Buy more servers to distribute the load of Logins after outages.
C) Use them efficiently.

13,650 Noobs can get on, But people (like me) who have been here for month's or maybe even a year or two or 3 or whatever can't. Pretty sad if you ask me. Those sitting at the login screen have a better chance of quitting and trying again.

You're new here, aren't you?

(it is usually clogged when the grid opens and the rush is on. Patience is a virtue!)

lol, actually I pay them to provide them to me, you seem to have it bass-ackwards.

Heaven forbid they anticipate this and actually prepare for it. But how dare we even mention that, eh?

Getting the "Despite our best efforts.." message right away now... must be the mad influx of people pushing on the door... lets all back up a little, take a deep breath and proceed at a slooooow steady pace. ( if that doesn't work, we all charge the door on the count of five! )

I can't get in yet and need to get messages replied to before I go to bed :(

Notice the money tree pickers have managed.

I know how bad it can be logging in after downtime but this is much worse than usual. Log in numbers are still only 16,000+. We'll get another blog entry some time saying there are login problems!
