From: Maelstrom Janus on average every 10 steps...'yank back'
my conover performance metre gives the region a 'great' reading.
I think this is a new problem - or relatively new. /me looks curious. Got a sim name?

I don't kn ow how to reply to certain threads - but in reply to the comment about Maelstrom experiencing outside issues which may affect it - I am getting exactly the same thing. My guess is we're on different isp's with different set ups, so I don't think it would be an 'outside' issue.
Wherever I go I either wade through treacle, run on the spot or just keep walking aimlessly for miles until I whack back to where I was. Yes we've always had this in SL - but for the last week or so it's been worse than I ever remember it. I can't even fly up with my jetpack without it happening.
There are currently 3 people on the sim, so it can't be overcrowding. It's everywhere I visit now.

Yes, lots more laggy lately, and I've been finding a lot more ghosts than ever before too, where people have left their "SL essence" behind! Since the last rolling restart I've noticed things have worsened.

Next! Who's got a laggy sim? Im astounded by the revelations you made when you visited sindy and in one region it semes the issue has been located and resolved. Your help is very much appreciated Sindy. Its a shame though because those objects added so much atmosphere....

Its a shame though because those objects added so much atmosphere.... NP! In terms of degree-of-evil, being temporary objects is probably at the top of the scale for what I saw. After that would be physical/not-phantom. Just physical/phantom isn't too terrible, unless there are really a whole bunch of them. For the butterflies, I think she had lots of prims free - she could see if there is a non-temp version from the vendor. For the rats, that's a little trickier. If there was a non-temp version available, they'd probably still be a bit laggy because they're physical/non-phantom. They wouldn't be nearly as bad, though. Making them physical/phantom would be better but then they would be able to run through walls and such... edit: and it's not actually that they are temp that is the problem - it's that they are being rezzed over and over that causes the problem. Being temp just means that they are automatically deleted by the sim after about a minute.
