Avatar looking odd

I've not been to SL for a while and have just downloaded the latest version of the software. Logging on, my avatar (and every one else) looks peculiar. My arms are outstretched in a crucifix position, my head is now between my knees and my clothes are tatters. Everyone else looks similar. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

This isn't the first post. Where you are upside down with your head up your butt. This was an old glitch, I haven't heard about it for a good year, now apparently it's sweeping the grid. Hopefully there is a fix in the works. What can you do? Well clear your cache and relog, cross your fingers, about it really.

I've cleared the cache and re-logged but still look odd - Others don't seem to notice so I'll pretend I'm normal. Thanks for the advice.

So the list of unavailable avatars is growing. Now there's the shredded Jesus, the head up the butt, of course the old school fave Ruth, and the new Ruth who is some ball of light to hide the dreaded nipples. That is just too funny.

hmm..ok there could be one reason i can think of why this happens..
were you born on a plane that was crashing and survived?

seriously though you could try another viewer also..
i love my nicholis viewer and really have not had a lot of the glitches you get with the RC..

You've got to go into the graphics preferences, select custom, and disable Hardware Skinning. That should clear it up. You can also check with your video card maker to see if there's an updated driver available. I had the same thing happen back during the last forced upgrade.
