We're all very happy for you:)

The guy wants a HUD. What can I say?

Erm... two birds with one stone ... this is the full version, but even the L$1 version has tons of features... And this is the quick guide ....

MystiTool combines the most commonly used features into one easy to use hud attachment.
All messages are output via llOwnerSay. You are the only person who sees what MystiTool says.

The most commonly used functions are accessible by simply clicking on the MystiTool HUD.
Voice commands for certain features offer more flexibility.

Some commands are accessible *only* by voice command. Those features are noted appropriately.

If you forget your channel, simply re-attach MystiTool. The channel will be shown to you.

Show the main popup menu.

/1 sleep
/1 wake

Useful if you drop and lose your attachments somewhere. :)

/1 reset

========
Gestures
========

MystiTool additionally listens on channel 9001 for voice commands. Since the main command channel may be changed, this specific channel is set aside to allow you to easily create gestures. A few have been included to get you started. :)

􀀐
􀀑
􀀒

=========
Technical
=========

I have made my scripts as low-lag and efficient as possible. Listeners and timers for various features are only used temporarily as needed. As of 2007 January, on a class 4 server, MystiTool uses 0.12ms script time with sensors off, and 0.08ms in sleep mode.

As of 2007 July, on a class 5 server, MystiTool uses 0.04ms script time, and 0.03ms in sleep mode.

I would love to add more hud buttons, but doing so increases sim lag (script time). Maybe at some point in the future. :)

========
Support
========

For suggestions and support issues, please drop notecards onto Mystical Cookie's profile. My IMs are capped regularly, so notecards are best. :)

If I am offline or unable to respond due to personal time, you may also join the "MystiTool Users" group to chat with other MystiTool users.

Development of MystiTool addons is not officially supported by me. However, I have provided a "Scripting for MystiTool" notecard, available at the top of this document, as well as a "MystiTool Users" group to assist you.

It slices, it dices, it makes thousands of julienned fries! Saw a brick, then slice through a tomato with ease!

Seriously, it was the first thing I spent $L on. Probably the best thing I've bought.

Huh. Cool. I dunno if I would ever use 99% of those utilities but it looks neat. How does it handle regular AO attachments? I'm assuming since it runs on a channel and that since most of that stuff doesn't interact with animations, it's okay?

That made my eyes bleed :eek:

That is indeed the summary of the full one. It then has detailed notecards for every functionality, 'bout 10 of them I think. I lurv my Mystitool :D particularly the landmark organiser and TP history, and the platform rezzer and the scanners and such. Never use the weaponry myself.
Also, oddly, the Mystitool works in no-script areas, which has its uses.

I think so yes, although I don't have an AO full of stuff, just a walk. But I seem to remember one of my friends using both together no problem.

Have you read the replies above, for pete's sake? Get yourself a Mysti-tool! :eek:

I've got to get some money first. I am trying to avoid entering a credit card number to buy money, and all of those Money Tree Questionaires seemed way to much like I was just getting on spam lists

Any sandbox is a place to drop ("rez";) stuff to open them.

I was in a vehicle sandbox and it would not let me drop. Maybe I need to find another sandbox

LOL, is that what you're worried about. I think I can 'lend' you the money for a Mysti tool, at least the freebie version.

Real money trees don't make you fill out questionaires and send you spam.

Instead of "dropping" it while you're wearing it, try detaching it from your body and then dragging it from your inventory to the ground.

Search "Ab's Emporium" It's in Monowai. There's a bona fide Money Tree.

I also have one in inventory but I haven't decided where to rez it yet.

it looks like this:

Hold, I've just sent you L$ 50 to get you started and so you could buy a Mysti tool. Why are looking for money trees?

I'm totally bemused and confused!

I founf the money tree. Thank you very much. Chas gave me 50L$. Thanks for that too.

I went to Mysti and finally found the freebie. I unpacked it, and got a lot of things, including a note card, but it did not say what to do with the other things. I right click them and open is an option, but it says I cant open them. And wear and attach are not options

once unpacked you'll have the HUD in inventory. Right click in inventory, and choose "attach to HUD" and put it on the left somewheres.

Search for the Master Money Tree Directory, which has landmarks to all the money trees in the SL world. I made good cash bouncing around from money tree to money tree in my first month. Be warned, some trees may require payment info on file. Of course, if you're posting here, that's already a done deal.

Hi DJ,
The Mystitool comes with a whole bunch of notecards that explain in pretty good detail what every item is and how you can use it. Take your time to read them. :)

Once you've opened the box - which you can do at Mystical's store or just outside (I checked last night) - copy the contents to inventory, then 'wear' the HUD, which does indeed look like a box in your inventory. You don't have to drop this box. Just wear it.

The HUD is just two grey dots usually on the bottom right of your screen. The grey dot on the left gives you access to a lot of the functions. Just click and you get the pop-up menu.

Good luck and do keep posting if this continues to be a problem.

Oh, and as Sally says, do read the manual. It's very good.:)

Chas is correct - just wear it. And the notecard in it is very clearly written as far as instructions are concerned. You should be having NO problem with it by now. Have fun with it!

My problem was when I tried to wear it, without unpacking, I was wearing a box. And then when I unpacked it I got another box. But by this time I learned you dont wear boxes, so I unpacked it, and got a bunch of scripts that did not make any sense to me, and could not be worn,

I did finally see the two gray circles (not sure what the right one is for)

But how do you know when a box should be worn, and when it should be dropped and opened?

This is really strange. I've gotten 3 of these free Mystitools, one for me, and each Alt, and never had this happen. Always opened the original box and just was able to wear the Mystitool once opened.

Only the original box needs to be opened. Then, once opened, in that folder there is a set of items, one of which say "Mystitool" and has a box icon near it. That is the one which you will "wear". It definately should not be appearing as a box again on you. It should bring up the 2 circles on the right side of your screen, and start showing what av's are in your vicinity. In that folder is the instructions as well, the script (don't touch), and something else, I forget off hand.

Hello DJ,

Often when you buy multiple items, you will be buying them in a box. That box then needs opening to get the contents in your inventory.

Items such as the Mystitool, but also all other HUDS, gadgets, prim clothing, even animals, etc. will shows up in the inventory with a box icon next to it. Sadly, as far as I know, there is no way to make that different. My skirts for example also show up as boxes in my inventory.
As you get around more you will be able to guess more easily which box you buy or pick up is actually a real box and which isn´t.

With the Mystitool, you should have one item in your inventory that is actually named HUD. This is the one to right-click and "wear". The only thing you will see is the small circles on your screen. Clicking the left circle will give you access to the functionalities of the Mystitool. The notecard in your inventory explains what each of them is and how to use these.

Hope this helps.
Good luck :)

It does, and I finally figured out which box is the HUD, and I even copied it into my main folder. But it is definitely confusing getting something in a box which must be dropped and opened, and having that contain other boxes, but they are just to be worn, and not dropped and opened.
