Is your sl avatar you?

im a newbie and i have tried to use the 'search' but didn't find the exact answer.
so here's my question:

How many of you created your sl avatar that actually closely resembled yourself physically?

Mine's intended to be but I can't get the short hair right as the sliders just don't allow it and I should be a little fatter but clothes don't look right. I'm sure if I spent a lot of time slowly tweaking I could make it closer buy I'm far too lazy. Plus the Second Life avatar mesh is horrendous.

While I usually wear this clothing setup, I do own a load of great alternatives, from this new beagle dog avatar that looks like my beagle, to the great wyrm dragons, and a few dozen in-between. Love pulling those out from time to time to show what great creations residents are capable of.

One of my alts is made to look more or less like my physical self. So Yes and No.

As with many questions in real life, I am afraid that this cannot be answered with a clear-cut "yes" or "no".

I try to make my avatar look like me, but her makeup is always flawless and she has better clothes.

I created my avatar with the "basic elements" of myself from RL: tall, fair skin, blue eyes, red hair.

I have many different styles of hair, some resemble my RL style as it is now, some are similar to my RL hairstyle from years ago and some are just ones I like.

When I met my partner, his avatar was shorter than mine, so I scaled mine down to better match his. He also likes green eyes, so I began wearing those.

My personality, emotions, reactions, etc. are me online and off.

Mine is me, actually it is a photosourced map I made for poser a few years back, which is sourced from myself. The only thing I can't get right are my tattoos, in RL I don't have mirrored tats on my body, but you can't set thisparapeter in SL, sadly.

So yeah, it is me, the face is almost 100%, the body I had to set to a lot taller, I am only 5'9'' in RL, and that looks so bad in SL. And the hair is so not mine, I have really curly hair in RL and heel it really short, and I have yet to find a good prim hair for guys that is that short.

My avatar and life in SL are as much like RL as possible. I am a newbie and just starting, but it is getting closer every day. (when I have time)

In RL I am a female attorney, mid 30's, living a very conservative lifestyle. In SL I will be mainly interested in political, public affairs, and educational areas. (I am NOT conservative politically).

The wardrobe I am building in SL resembles the RL one, both the professional suits, conservative leisure type clothes, and even under things.

I know some people like to use things like SL to be what they are not in RL. But I am very happy the way I live in RL and I am the same in SL.

And I'm actually a cat in real life.

2. The person at the keyboard pretending to be my avatar.
3. The preson behind the keyboard pretending to be me.
4. Me

That means when you and I talk in SL, there are really 16 conversations going on, as opposed to the usual 4 conversations in real life.

Much pain and suffering is caused by not being clear about which of the 16 is most important at any given moment. It is complicated.

My main avatar, Ceera, has over 70 different forms, and not one of them looks like my Player. I have about a dozen alts, and while I did try to make one of those look like my Player, I find I virtualy never use that alt. And even then, that alt was younger, thinner, and has nicer hair than the real me.

I come to SL because I love the ability to be anything I can imagine. If I want to be "the real me", I don't need SL to do that.

My main Av comes in a variey of looks and styles as do my alts. All of their looks serve a certain purpose non of which is to duplicate my RL appearance.

Couldn't really answer. My av is 100% not me in RL but my personality, feelings, emotions and likes/dislikes are identical in both RL and SL.

Oh yes mines my double............wearing a wig.shoe lifts,face lift and liposuction etc. etc.

Normally I never discuss my RL details, but after 2 years what the heck!!! Here goes:

My av is more or less how I looked when I joined SL 2 years ago when I was particularly slim and fit.
Since then I've been trying to keep my RL appearance looking like my av, rather than the other way round! So far I've just about succeeded.

I never morph into other shapes - only change clothes or have hair loose or tied back.

I have an alt, X7 Mubble, which is a black hovering ball which is robotic and doesn't socialise. I also have a couple of spare alts I can use to make avatars for photos etc but they don't socialise in SL either......that's MY job!

/me makes a note to watch out for rl women who look like Conifer's avatar.

But I look fairly ordinary so there are lots of women who look like me. Someone in SL said my avatar looked like Nellie Furtado, which was flattering as she's attractive looking but she's not unusual looking!

If I could make myself look like my SL avatar, I wouldn't need to get into SL.

I'd also be in line for at least three Nobel prizes.
