Hello, I'm new to this Second Life thing and I'm basically writing a report about how to play soccer in Second Life. I never really went to Second Life as much so I need as much help as I can possibly get. But I need to know some aspects on how to do some of these things which are:
-The basics of how to move for playing soccer in Second Life -Where to find a field to play soccer in Second Life -Where to get a ball to play soccer in Second Life -Advanced moves to perform -Strategy/Tips to beat other people playing soccer -Where to find people to play this game or like a club that I can join to play some more soccer
Please and thank you for anyone kind enough to help me out.

Quite why folk get so upset about the word "soccer" is beyond me to be honest. Soccer is a word first coined in England in the 19th Century so it's not as if that lot over the pond have corrupted the sacred game by inventing the word.
Having said that, American "football" would better be called "battleball" or "gridball" or something. Gridiron! There's a good wholesome name...
Anywho...
I don't know how to play footie in SL but there are clubs in the grid. I haven't yet checked out whether or not they play the game or just ponce about with Man Utd tags above their avatars.
Would be a good idea I reckon if we could get a wee league going.
"... and it's West Bromwich Albion... West Bromwich Albion FC... etc"

Please and thank you for anyone kind enough to help me out. Let me get this straight. You have a homework assignment. You managed to con the teacher into letting you write a report about a computer game. Then you were too lazy to actually PLAY the computer game, so you decided to ask people who DO play to tell you stuff you can cut and paste into your report. Is that about right? Did I miss something? No, I won't write your report for you. Besides, I don't play soccer OR football, in SL or Real Life. I slay people with ancient and modern weapons instead. It's much more civilized.

The term soccer originated in England, first appearing in the 1880s as a slang abbreviation of the word "association", often credited to former England captain Charles Wreford-Brown.[46] this is from Wikipedia... boing boing boing

Would be a good idea I reckon if we could get a wee league going. "... and it's West Bromwich Albion... There is only one kind of football. What you refer to as American "football" is not a very good game. The 2.15% of you who are aware that there is a world outside your borders may have noticed that no one else plays "American" football. You will no longer be allowed to play it, and should instead play proper football. Initially, it would be best if you played with the girls. It is a difficult game. Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which is similar to American "football", but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like nancies). We are hoping to get together at least a US rugby sevens side by 2005 Inc

No, the assignment is ABOUT second life and I just joined and idk where to go, I don't even know how to sit on a chair. I'm like 2 days old on this simulation. I'm not asking you to write my report, I'm asking if you can help me find some information so I can write my report. EDIT: And for the people that's helping me gather information, thanks and I really appreciate it. But can anyone like teach me how so I can play it myself? I can't really learn how to play it by watching other people play. Yeah the videos are great, but some instructions, like how to kick and how to get a ball or something would really help me out alot here.

Laughable, really laughable!

Yes, SL does have a pretty steep learning curve. First, get off Help Island. Click one of the "Enter Second Life" signs scattered around...you'll see a new window. Click the "Teleport" button in that window to go to the pictured Welcome Area in the main world. Once you are there, open your Search tool, enter "soccer" (and maybe "football" and follow some of the links. Good luck!

"... and it's West Bromwich Albion... West Bromwich Albion FC... etc" Why it was or by who it was coined is of no consequence. Ever since villages played mile wide games with nothing more than an inflated pigs bladder it has always been and will always be called FOOTBALL its a game you play with your FOOT and a BALL.

Erm, please don't take this the wrong way, but how old are you? "How to play football/soccer in SL" doesn't really sound like a typical college assignment, unless there's a bit more to it than that. If you are younger than 18, you ought look into the Teen Grid--and I am certain that they would have inworld games as well (I know they had a medieval joust, for example)
