Is the flexi prim bug in the current 'stable' client as well?

If so, why not give it a whirl? Or at least download it and just try it, not like it replaces your old SL directory.

I don't understand why people 'pass on the RC' honestly, when they can help get some bugs fixed, and then get right back to their 'stable' client and be fine, no worse for wear.

EDIT:: Found the JIRA for the flexies.. you mean twist isn't supposed to do that to flexies!? Damn... I like it like that, makes better tails XD

It's not just the twist, it's also related to the fact that the flex prims aren't using their attributes, causing hair to hang down when there's supposed to be a slight curve to keep them in alignment. It's annoying to me, because I create the flexible prim skirts and creating things is, well, my hobby in SL. I really enjoy doing it, so it's the first thing I try to do when I log in.

So, it bugs the snot and wits out of me when I have to deal with a bug like this. Fortunately, this doesn't affect the main viewer at all, but if they decided to just go ahead and push the RC through with this bug, I'd have to take a break from SL until they fixed it. It breaks so many things that make SL lovely to me.

Newly created avatars without a gender, or any avatar where “clothing is still downloading” are rendered as a cloud rather than naked/wrong body shape

oh! this explains the clouds I kept seeing around people as they teleported last night....

Hehe I see cloud people. Much more attractive than grays or ruths. I'd rather be a cloud over a ruth anyday!

When you use voice, if any sound is coming from your mic, your av's lips move. Though not at all in time with the sound, just a babble-mouth movement looped until no sound is coming from your mic.

Really, its not that good?

Like that bug you're experiencing where you can't really use the in-world browser for anything?

The scroll bug was reported over 2 months ago, the link clicking bug is 6 months old.

LL fixes what it feels like fixing, not what we report they should be fixing and certainly not based on votes.

I stopped testing RC simply because the new color scheme hurts my eyes. And if they cant do something as simple as provide the classic look like so so many have begged for why in the hell would I expect them to listen to any other suggestions. Sure find a major show stopper and they’ll maybe fix it on the next go around. Make an honest criticism on the UI? Forget it. How long had ppl begged for the Communicate window to be fixed? I fear LL will just force this color scheme on us with the usual “shut up and get used to it” attitude.

I like the Nicholaz viewers. I haven’t used one since he fixed that horrible memory leak with dual core machines awhile back. And didn’t I read that he was retiring with the 1.18x? Anyway, the current SL viewer seems stable enough but ill be all about Nicholaz when this dazzle crap is forced on us.

He sort of unretired. He has Viewers for the 1.18.5 series non Windlight,BE-X, which I use, one for 1.19 Windlight, the EC (Eye Candy) model and even one for the 1.20 or as he calls it, Snowblind. He also has the Old School 18.0 Non Voice pre comm box viewer, which he has just updated. I've used his viewers exclusively for over a year, and recommend them as an option for those who have issues with LL's viewers.

The classic skin and a few others are here:

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Viewer_Skins

But those ain't the "Official" skins they were talkin about...these are user-created skins. I used the Classic one on the last RC, but when I used it on THIS RC is crashed over & over again...the Client is so picky, I don't know if it was the skin or not...but anyway, there are about 4-5 skins to pick from at that link.

Yeah I’ve tried some of those skins and kudos to the ppl that created them. But hacking the xml every time there is an update was a pain in the ass so I just stopped using the RCs :(

This is a very early beta. At the moment it's literally just a babble, but I believe the person developing it intends to have it eventually do an actual partial lipsync. There's a wiki pagea bout it but I don't have time to find it atm.. there's a link in the blog post about the RC 1.2.7

I'm going through the debug settings atm to try and see if I can find a way to change the mist-person clour..anyway, I've learned something about the voice chat lipsync.

It seems it decides to use an 'aah' or 'ooh' animation based on power or volume of voice or something.. not really sure.. there is a 'LipSyncOohPowerTransfer' (Same with aah) that has the following description:
Transfer curve for Voice Interface power to ooh lip sync amplitude.

So apparently it's a bit more advanced even now than it currently seems, and should only become moreso.

It's actually kinda cool..seen it yet?

It's like a light blue shifting cloud... personally, I wanna see giant ruth-heads, but that's just me.

this whole cloud thing sort of takes the wind out of the sails of a 2nd annual ruthfest.

/me saw some cloud people last night and wondered what their ARC was, compared to Ruth's ARC of 1.

Ruth is an evil, spiteful bitch and I applaud anything that will keep her away. I for one welcome our new Cloud Overlords.

I gotta find somebody who uses Voice when I wake up tommorrow, heh. (It's almost 1AM here)

I think for people to see the lip movement on another, they too have to have the new viewer with lip sync enabled, at least this was how the "babble" lip sync viewer was working when installing it manually.

Linden Dollar Transactions will fail when using the RC7 Second Life Viewer. Please try to purchase Linden Dollars from the main website: http://www.secondlife.com for the time being. We will update you here when further information is available. Thank you for your patience.

[Linden purchases not working in the new RC]

That is really stupidly bad news. :( I am not a programmer, and I know that large, complex applications have complex interactions among their parts, but it's hard for me to imagine how a bug like this works its way into a RC.

Well RC7 was pulled anyway, people will be prompted to go back to RC6.

RC7 was expected by the Lindens to cause trouble, it wasn't intended to be a "release candidate" in the mainstream sense (nor will the next few). More at

Well hmm...I haven't even had much of a chance to really check it out yet. From what little I'd seen, I really was having high hopes.

Ah, well the beta is a little bit more stable and has most of the same new features. It will run on the main grid if you add --grid agni to its command line, or turn on ForceShowGrid in the debug settings.

I HATE it. RC7 wont work for me at all.
I so much want RC6 back.
RC7 just chunks and balks and my computer stops every 10 seconds to process lord knows what. RC6, It went like 6 hours before I'd hit a glitch. after the pain of 1.19....... RC6 was super.

Seriously. RC7 is enough to make me quit SL.

Hell I shut RC7 off 5 minutes ago and its still churning out something here. PLEASE give me a option to go back to 6

Now make that 7 minutes at least of second life still shutting down or doing something.
