What the HELL is with this update? URGH!!!

Tell us something we don't know. Tell us something we don't experience every single time you log in since heavens knows how long.



Now, if you tell us the sims are running smoothly, textures are rezzing properly and on time, there's no lag, everything is functioning correctly then this will be news. But that nothing is working and that there's problems going on?

So what's new?

I know I'll probably get slammed for this...but I'm still using an old pre-Windlight viewer (1.8 something or other) with Nicholaz and except for my rezzed storage box missing, everything for me is same as always.

Same here. I'm using th Old School version again, no voice and the old comm window. Rock Solid. I bask in my Luddism.

was still using the RC0 and you can`t even use the --channel command to bypass the upgrade

Anyone try copying worn (or not) attachments/objects in the inventory? I keep having them not show up in the folder I am copying them to until I relog. Both main and RC, which means, I can't swap out to avoid the problem.

Had a new one today. I was out shopping, stood up from a chair, and started spinning rapidly counter-clockwise. Had to quit the program. Logged back in later, managed to get home, and the program crashed. Sigh.

Business is off 50% as well. Can't imagine why people wouldn't want to buy things in the middle of an endless restart...

IAWTP. I am on 1.19 + Nicholaz which includes Windlight and it works great for me. My friends crash all the time. I rarely do. Unless I'm in an awkward IM. Then I uh crash.

Beginning Wednesday evening SLT, I noticed when going to a new sim that the rez time was much longer than normal. Thursday, performance declined further and my FPS were lower than usual. I'm using 1.19.1.4.

I may be more pedestrian than many SL users (of course I've met a couple people lately who've been in SL since 2006 and still have no idea of how to put items in boxes....) but I honestly don't know what mono is other than something to do with a change to the scripting language...I think.

Hopefully this update will smooth out soon.

Issues I have seen:
Download times to res a new zone I have seen go way up, but this is server side and could well be network or internet related.

Attached items disapear at odd time. I have seen this more as the camera gets closer but sometimes when the camera is pulled back as well.

Graphics are not as crisp. Especially avatars and clothing. It's like the LoD has been turned way down.

Screenshots are .png format! Yea! The first shot when you open the snapsot window has always taken sometiime to open up but it seems to have doubled and the SL application goes into (Not Responding) while waiting. I have also seen some odd form of tearing with attached objects. They appear clipped along straight horizontal and vertical lines. I have seen this more with hair but then I take portraits usually. What I wind up with is a lovely shot where only the lower 2/3 of the hair is shown and the top of the head shows above the straight, horizontal cut. If I were at home I would upload an example. It does not look like that on my screen but it does when saved to disc.

These are the biggies I can think of off the top of my head. It makes it rather difficult to try and beta test for minor problems.

However, I don't seem to be crashing like many have reported. (nVidia 8700 and Vista on an AMD chip)

I am not using any of newer Release Canidates and I have been having issues for last month with whatever they are doing on server end. I'm using 1.19.1.4.
This last week I have been crashing, login issues, login in as frozen Ruth that appears offline to my friends, im's don't go through, login under the water when my home 400m in sky. Everything Avatar related stays gray, never rezzes on my end in busy areas for hours, any time I move my clothing blurrs.
I would think the mandatory viewer or 1.19.1.4. would be more stable then 1.20 but why isn't it? I think it might be my graphics card but my boyfriend got nvidea 7900 card the last few days have been lag fest even for him.

...it can't be the RC...

I'm still using the same Nicholaz Eye Candy viewer I've been using for months, and besides crashes, I've still seen most of the bugs mentioned in this thread.

It's somethin on the server side, whatever it is. *shrugs*
