What the HELL is with this update? URGH!!!

Dunno ... if that's what it is saying. It's borked up for me already so I'm about to DL from the support site and try again. Yeesh ... if they fixed the broken friends online I'd use pre-Windlight!

Not so much a graphics problem but there seems to be more lag now. Longer rez times and crappy frame rates.

Also disappearing inventory (after "failed to rez object" when trying to wear something) and previously disappeared items suddenly appearing on the body at random times.

While this seems to have started just recently, I doubt the new viewer is to blame for this.

It seems so, but on 1.20 too. Things are taking much longer to rez - avatars too. SL performance has been pretty good for me until very recently.

I literally mean within the last few minutes after being logged off as part of the deploy rollout. I was running ok before that!

Update 09/11 12:09PM : the pilot roll to ~3000 regions of the updated 1.24.5 has begun. The version now being deployed is 1.24.5.96378.

Update 09/11 05:13AM : our Brighton developers fixed a couple of more small bugs, the patches for which we want to get into the 1.24.5 update. We are going to put those two fixes through QA today, and redo the pilot roll. That puts us on this schedule:

1. 09/11 before noon : redo the pilot roll to the same group of ~3000 regions
   
2. 09/11 7-11pm : a rolling restart of half of the regions in Second Life
   
3. 09/12 5-9am : a rolling restart of the rest of Second Life
   

Update 09/10 09:57PM : the pilot roll to ~3000 regions is complete.

We will be deploying server version 1.24.5 to Second Life this week. This version includes no new major features, but fixes bugs with the current 1.24.4 server that is on Second Life. More details of what’s been changed can be found on the Second Life Wiki’s release notes page for 1.24.

This rolling restart will follow our usual three-stage deploy:

1. Wed, 09/10, 9pm : A pilot group of ~3000 regions will be restarted.
   
2. Thu, 09/11, 5-9am : Half of Second Life will be restarted.
   
3. Fri, 09/12, 5-9am : The remainder of Second Life will be restarted.
   

If you are talking about the newest RC, yes. LAGGGGGGGG and I have never crashed so much in my SL life.

Aha!! The RC... Well, it's still in development so Jira everything you find and go back to 1.20.15 until the next RC release. (^_^)y

i was working happily all night, though a bit laggy but then, maybe around 7AM EST all sorts of crap cut loose and it was HORRIBLE, it finally got so bad i quit building my new attraction.
Hopefully it will revert to a month ago, (being sarcastic) and all wil be well again later so i can finish.

OMG the weirdest thing just happened

I have some ducks in the water around my store

I am off to the side area in my work shop just working on the new hippo group when all of a sudden I see on of my sucks floating while spinning slowly, go past me and into the next sim...

well of course I took chase... but no duck to be found
then I saw another one do the same thing... I was like HUH!!

I check my ducks and they are happily swimming around in the water...

WEIRDEST thing to happen to me in SL

1.20.15 (92456) viewer as RC is as unstable as a unstable thing on an unstable day ...

BUT .. 1.20.15 .. lag city .. terrible terrible performance... close to unusable for even walking in an empty SIM .. WTF have LL done this time ??

I think those versions are not the droids you're looking for.

the main viewer, 1.20.15, has been very stable for me and performs well.
the latest RC, 1.21.2, lags horribly. Too bad even to use and look for JIRA issues to report.

I've had a lot of issues with ghost prims lately.

That's surely server side... Find a way to get that sim rebooted... My favorite method is a good sim-crashing physbomb (DON'T DO THIS!!!). (^_^)y

And word of advice, if you are building, leave a copy inworld. I lost a build I finished yesterday. Got nuked, sucks to be me.

I'm noticing major lag in rez times. I have to stand there anywhere from 3 to five minutes before more than 4 PRIMS will rez. Let alone the textures. Soooo... they borked the assets in an attempt to fix 'em?

With this latest client I've noticed that they've decided to make the viewer play a little clicky sound every time you left click on anything on the menus or bars and it's driving me insane.
There should be an option to entirely disable all the little dings, clicks and beeps the client makes.

Twice in a week The sim was reset both time. One tenant was a bit miffed, she's a new tenant so this hasn't been a good start, I moved her to another sim. My estate assistants aren't concierge level so can't get mainland sims rebooted, well not in a timely fashion.

Interesting because, I'm on 1.21.2 now and my FPS is about 10 higher than on 1.20.15 and I'm having no lag issues at all.

But I am the only AV in a low lag sim at the moment. No texture download issues at all.
