Renting land isn't prohibitively expensive to anyone's budget though.

And if someone wants to pull the tired old "but I don't want to spend any money on SL" then it would be their own choice that's preventing them from being able to sell on XStreet.

And how would you go about making sure they have a store? currently you have to either have bought or rented either land or space on someone else's land to sell on XStreet by essence of needing a place to have a box. If you need to own or land x meters of land then that would be too onerous, if you just needed a single vendor up then it would be pointless.

Besides the fact that LL would never go for it since it would significantly deter people from selling stuff in world which is bad business it would be impossible to enforce and there's no possible fair standard, I think PIOF would be a good idea though.

Having only recently ventured into XStreet, I'd have to say it seems pretty useless to me, I haven't sold a single item in 3 months there, though I've only sold a couple inworld in the same period.

I'm not sure dropping prices to US30 cents is going to sell even 2 times better than at $US1. I'm just not interested in selling to people who can't afford $US1, it just devalues others including those who have better quality items they should be selling at twice the price of mine.

Xstreet is only a problem because it costs nothing to fail. Selling items inworld should be restricted to people willing to pony up enough financial commitment of being a Premium account to enter a market that requires success to stay afloat or a decication to lose money.

While we allow people to sell anything for zero investment we devalue everyones stuff to effectively L$0. It is a "no lose" situation for anyone no mater how crappy or stolen their product is, Just create 20 alts selling the same crappy stuff at L$1 and it will sell eventually, it's like spamming 100,000 people with Viagra Emails to anyone with an email whether they be remotely interestedd or not, its 100% free to do so, any sale is profit. You don't see people snail mailing 100,000 viagra letters to uninterested parties at 50 cents a stamped envelope.
