*smiles* It's wonderful that you found them, Mari! Congrats!
If the purpose of the hunt is to get newer residents out there exploring, I think the burden is on the Lindens to put their eggs where it is less likely that accomplished mainlanders would come across them.
That said, if I were them I would contract with you to place their hunt items. Their focus is different from yours, I'm sure none of them know their world as you do.
p.s. They should also give you brownie points for being so honest with them; a more obsessed hunter would have simply alt-ed up for the 2nd egg. .

If it was, they did a terrible job. I looked at the Twitter feed to check out the "clues" and all I see are announcements that most of the eggs have already been found, apparently by people who already knew where to look. Nothing but a waste of time. (This shouldn't be construed as slagging on Mari, but on the organizers of the event).

From: Marianne McCann I did drop a note to the Linen In Charge (LIC?) of the contest, who noted that the rules say "one prize per person." As such, I'm gonna see if she can't jes take that second one and re-position it... somewhere. You are a class act, Mari, for doing what you believe to be right.

If anyone represents the heart of SL, it's Marianne. You are the goodest egg we got. Enjoy yours.

Yeah, I was going to say, you found it fair and square and, unless the rules stipulate otherwise, keep it.

Since you found it fairly then there is no reason to "throw yourself on the mercy of the forum"
enjoy the prize, after all you won it fair and square.
(how many from here actually tried finding them?)
I didn't.
PS If you really feel you should not have the prize, have a linden put it back.

From: Qie Niangao I don't think anybody else would appreciate it as much as you do, Mari. /me points. That's it, right there. That and finders keepers!

Any insider information you have, Mari, was totally earned by your enthusiastic participation in so many things. You won because deserved to.

From: Marianne McCann Add to that that I do spend a fair amount of time "in the company of Lindens." I was at the brown bag today on the adult stuff, mainly because of a long history of dealing with kidstuff and trying to make sure the GTeam and LL act fairly. My interest in mainland and places like Bay City have put me in contact with more than a couple Lindens on a regular basis. Also, I'm in the Bay Area and have friends from before there was an SL who now work at 945 Battery. It would be *very* easy to paint a portrait of favoritism. Ironic in a way, given my history in SL as a "child avatar advocate."
this may make you laugh, but I've always had the impression you are some Linden's Alt.
