From: ConductorX Nieuport Is there something more to having a partner than just having the name appear in your profile.
Is the partner entitled to any thing in the event of a divorce?
Does the partner get half of your stuff?
Is there any benefits other than showing someone you really care about them?
In RL instead of getting married I would just find someone I want to hate and buy them a house.
"CX" Funny joke. A little painful for me, but still funny. I used to have a really nice house. It's good to hear about the ones that are working out, though. I haven't lost faith in the institution of marriage and stories like these help me keep that faith. I think a lot of people partner up because it helps the women not get hit on as much, but other than that, and the obvious emotional reasons, I can't think of a reason to do it.

"CX" My partner is entitled to 100% of my drama and I am entitled to all of their stuff. No more, No less.

It doesnt give you anything extra. Just lets people know who your partner is. It is the same as just writing their name it the description
But it does have some special meaning if you want it to.

From: ConductorX Nieuport Before anyone goes around spreading rumors, I am not looking to make a partnership with anyone. I am just trying to understand how the "game" is played.
"CX"
Dang it, I was going to make you hate me so I could get a free house.

From: Fand Aeon .... It basically shows on your profile you are committed to someone. ... It gives the impression that you are committed. Unfortunately, in SL, that may or may not be the same thing as actually being committed to someone. Sorry, I am a bit cynical. Luckily, in SL, if it doesn't work out, you simply have to pay a divorce 'fee' - and if you have group-owned land, you have to sort that out (of course you might have that issue without the partnering). Other than that, you each take your own possessions back. If you both conducted yourselves fairly well during the partnership and are both able to be mature about it, the split-up will leave you feeling sad, but not bitter.

I'm always amazed at the number of ppl I know who say "I'll never partner because of blah, blah, blah." Then they end up partnered.
(I've never been partnered. Is it my breath? Won't someone tell me?)

From: Yosef Okelly When my wife and I were married for about a year, I remember going out to eat with another couple. We held hands as we walked up the the resturant doors and the other couple were kidding us about it saying thing like, "wait til you married 5 years."
After 5 years we still held hands, only then people were saying wait til you have been married for 7.
Seven years and we still held hands and kissed in public --- but wait till your married 10 years.
Then 15
In July we will have been maried 18 years. We still hold hands when walking. I still put my arm around her at the movies. I still kiss her everyday and any chance I get.
Maybe I'm just weird but am I suposed to hate my wife for some reason? chuckles 11 years for me and wife still sitting on lap in public, holding hands, kissing her at the gym.... heck if i DIDN'T like the woman, i wouldn't be WITH her.... I don't understand that stuff either.....
