If you don't allow PMs here, please explain why not. There are many times when I am glad to get a private message here and appreciate the feature greatly. I'm on the run from the SL law, and don't want them to trace my calls and track me down.

huh, y'know I've been wondering why so many people I want to PM have it off. I didn't realize it's off by default, I guess I just turned it on out of habit and forgot about it. From: Avion Raymaker 2) I like to post on my lunch hour at work. We're free to use the internet on our own time, but IM's just LOOK more like you're screwing around, from a distance. The VP walking by doesn't necessarily know it's my lunch time.
You're getting PM confused with IM. PM stands for "private message." It allows you to send a message just for the one recipient to read, as opposed to a public post on the forum. It isn't an instant message thing, it works like email, sitting in the person's inbox until they get around to reading it.

From: Brenda Connolly Stop pushing buttons you aren't supposed to push and the cops wouldn't be after you. But big red buttons are supposed to be pressed! That's what they're for. Even more so if they have a big sign saying "Do not press this big red button"
