Well, we changed to daylight savings time on the weekend, in Australia. For me, it's not so much the time that causes the problem, it's the day. Being a day in advance, i tend to arrive to functions a day early.

I live in hope that, one day, Lindens will put the day or date next to the time.

Yep I second that :)

I agree heartily that the time change is pointless in our current era. But IMO it's Standard Time that needs to go. Daylight Saving time fixes it so the clocks match our post-industrial sleeping habits rather than our pre-industrial farming lifestyles. Ask a farmer: they don't care if it's DST or not; they just don't like the change twice a year. Daylight Saving Time is smarter. So its chances of getting anywhere are slim :)

There's already a universal, same-time-everywhere time standard: Swatch Internet Time. It's metric, thus it's in fact more natural for us ten-fingered types. It probably would have gotten traction if Swatch had synched it to GMT rather than Berne.

Problem for farmers is they can suddenly get up an hour early next morning but the cows won't turn up on time and if the kids go to school earlier they can't help
