Oh the joy of being new, and broke! (I have so far resisted buying any L$)
I only have 3 good outfits (that I was given as a store promotional), and some freebie clothes that were worth keeping.
8 days old, 2000 inventory items (after weeding out!). But only 3 hairstyles (all free), and 3 complete outfits, and 1 not-horrid skin(free). My choices are pretty limited.
It still takes me 20 minutes to get anywhere...longer if I dig into my folders of separates (that's why I never wear jeans..then I have to find a top, and shoes)
It would be much worse too if I dyed my hair. My 3 hairstyles all have 4 color options, but I'm sticking with 1...no 'going blonde'!
In RL, I'm a 'whatever is on top' type of dresser. So the SL female avatar has certainly affected me too.
