Is anyone else not seeing the moon now in SL?

Maybe it's gone to visit Uranus?

That's fine, I realize there are some under age kids in here who have always have to make comments like that. Maybe one day they will grow up.

You would think someone who has been in SL as long as they have would respond with an intelligent answer. I am a photographer in SL and the sunsets, sunrises, and moon seems not to be as good as it was prior to the last couple updates. I have tried several time settings and still no moon.

Uranus jokes are a classic. When is that not funny?

On a serious note, I don't recall the Moon going missing. I just checked on the 1.21.5 RC and 1.20.17 viewers, and it's still there for me in both.

I see the moon. It's the Windlight's clouds that hide it more often I noticed. I was adjusting the daycycle slider and I saw it rise and set. You just may need to adjust the cloud cover slider in the Environment Editor so the moon is more visible at night.

You don't have to be a kid to have a sense of humour. Maybe you should investigate that further to help you avoid being such a miserable git in future.

I did not offer an intelligent answer as you did not pose an intelligent question

Your question.

What sort of idiotic question is that?

I would suggest looking up when it is dark.

Let's see how long we can keep this thread going! But then again, perhaps not!

No: I see it fine in the nighttime periods of SL, or when I use nighttime settings. It does fade out a bit on the horizon (nice touch, Windlight devs!), but otherwise is visible.

The OP may have something here.

I don't usually notice the moon, but the other night I happened to have the sky in my view, and suddenly the moon simply *poof* appeared. At zenith. Not rising or setting, just nothing one second, moon the next.

I think some lunar observations may be in order, leading to a possible JIRA.

One of Torley's optional presets has a ginormpus moon...it looks like I could get to it from my skybox. :D

To be serious, I don't see the night very often, so I don't know what the current state of the moon is. I'll have a look next time I log in.

Maybe Blossom Goodchild's cloaked ship is covering it up. Maybe pigs will fly too. Good hoax by the way. With all the strife in the world, people need hope there is more than the Earth to sustain us. There isn't!

in SL pigs indeed fly so having a spaceship block the moon isn`t so far fetched :D

.....And then you all wonder why nobody really comes in for help.

Why do you always piss on peoples' threads? I mean, that's what this completely unhelpful, 'postcount++' garbage IS. Did it to mine, now doing it to this one... hell, you even managed to hijack a thread that should've been closed/deleted and made it a damned monster, only because thread starters lack the ability to prevent it.

I went through and reported the absolutely irrelevant crap clogging my thread, and hopefully the OP will do the same in this one.

I answered the OP on this thread, and one could agrue that your post above fits your own criteria. :-)

Don't tiptoe around it, Tiberious, tell us how you really feel. :D

I suspect some doctor removed your sense of humor when you weren't looking. You should sue.

Oh, ffs, it's a forum, not a course on disarming a bomb...no one dies if we go a bit off topic. People DO get helped and we have some fun in the meantime but, you know, sometimes we don't have the actual answer. Should we just ignore a thread in that case, let it sink to the next page, or might we actually be helping the OP out a bit by keeping it alive? You know, in case someone who DOES know the answer happens to wander by?

What sort of idiotic question is that?

It must be really fulfilling to be so much better than everyone else.

You'll notice that the OP has a significantly lower post count than you, plus a join date that's two years later... if a less-experienced resident is having an issue with the viewer, it isn't an 'idiotic' question.

To the OP: I'm using the most recent Release Candidate viewer, and now that you mention it, I don't see the moon if I force midnight. I see it in some of the presets, though. I'll have to experiment with this-- I'm curious now.
