Hmmm somehow I don't see eating a placenta with your girlfriends, as sex. More as a female bonding thing done in some cultures that revere birth and all that goes along with it.

without lowering the tone of the conversation and i do not wish to offend but it was very en vogue for 1970's 'earth mothers' to eat their placentas.....There was also a UK tv programme televised in 1998 that actually showed it being cooked.....my grandmother was a midwife and kept placentas in bags in our freezer, right next to the sunday roast....didn't bother us as kids and wouldn't do now, but maybe that's a male perspective.

True, placentas usually don't have a place in over the teapot conversation with your girlfriends. Pregnancy, labor, childbirth often do though. If the topic did come up, I don't think anyone I know would run screaming from the room, it's just another one of those female things.

I had occasion to speak to my in-real friend Lynx yesterday on the phone and conversation did turn to topics that are really NOT for forum discussion, including a book she was reading for an art project she was doing. And, honestly, although I have practically grown up with her (we made our first "real" money together when we were 14) we simply didnt want to "go there" and widen the experience of our feelings on what teh book was about. I never feel comfortable talking with my friends about what I should be telling my gyno or my doctor. Only Lynx knows about even teh most private thing I ever did and THAT is too hot a topic for Forums (so you can guess what THAT is!) and even then I told her only brief stuff.
