Actually, I think this was all my fault. You see, I don't shop often, so because I was trying to spend some fake currency I must have overtaxed that little gerbil.

The grid is not offline (yet), but concurrency is dropping fast, ~40K now. And ... it's been a half hour since the blog post. . From the Accounts page: Second Life Service Status Second Life Offline for Database Maintenance or Update In our continuing effort to improve your Second Life experience, we have taken Second Life temporarily offline for maintenance. This may also effect portions of our website. We are working to re-open our doors as quickly as possible and we appreciate your continued patience. For more details and further information on current system status, please visit our official blog at blog.secondlife.com. For more information about stability and performance, see Second Life Grid: Quality Metrics. From the Blog: [Update 14:25 PM] Second Life is still down. We expect to have a backup system online shortly. (yeah right) |

Complicating matters of straightening things out with customers every time transactions get screwed up, there's a growing breed of lying scammers running around who are taking every opportunity to try to get something for nothing. I've seen a huge increase in the number of people claiming to have made purchases that they never made at all according to the transaction logs, or exaggerating the number of items not received in the cases where a purchase does appear in the log. If I was to believe them all, I'd have to assume there's a lot of people running around who would keep stuffing money into a broken vending machine in RL as well. Who was it who said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Ditto. This is horrible. I had THREE people this week that couldn't pay a damn rental box to move in. They had to pay me directly(after waiting hours for me to get online). I had two current tenants that also couldn't pay their rent directly to the rental box and another one it took their money but didnt add on any time. I can't rez or attach anything half the time, my friends list is full of hippos, can't shop anymore,if i sneeze the wrong way I crash.. It's just unreal. I put around $500 USdollars a month into this game/world/whatever. I expect it to work at least 90 percent of the time the way it's supposed to. ![]() Ditto with the hippo rent boxes...none are updating the paid for days...so i have to keep cheking out my transaction history over the last few days and manually doing it, ie: paying the money in for them. Im pretty grateful residents & propective residents have been so patient & understanding. _____________________

I knew we were in trouble when I couldn't even find Ahern on the map. I was able to TP home somehow after multiple attempts.
Time for some low tech entertainment. Solitaire anyone? |

This is ridiculous. I've had several customers IM me asking for their avatar. This is my only method of business, Linden Labs, and I'm getting VERY fedup with the incompetence of this company! FIX STUFF! STOP ADDING FEATURES THAT WILL ONLY BREAK LATER!
