My thinks the Lindens would not want to upset the FBI to do a favor for a friend. They just have not gotten around to closing every casino. LL is probably only closing down casinos that residents alert them to and not personally scouring every square meter of the grid. If it bothers you when you see ones that are still on the grid, report them.

I reported a casino in my sim about 2 weeks ago... looked yesterday and it's still there. I understand they're busy with other things, but honestly, if they just tasked one or two people to cover just wagering AR's, they could have the reported ones gone in a couple of days.

Well I imagine for now its still just return/delete so they will go up as fast as LL can take them down.
After a while - when encountering a full blown casinos the will just ban the owner. More people will self regulate then. |

You don't need to join the group to go see the casino at Sapphire Central, just TP to one of the adjacent sims that allows TP... then go high up and fly into the Sapphire sim and then go down on top of the moon shaped building until you hit the member ban line. From there, you can cam down inside and do your AR (he he).

The real reason why this one is still around when the rest had to close is that this server is not in Linden control any more. This server is a privately owned server that is located outside the US. It is a private server that was hacked so it would join the grid. LL has been trying to rid the grid of this sim since early 2007. Part of the reasons for the casino bans was to try and make is so that this sim would leave on its own. They felt that they could make it not worth the effort to actually stay on the grid. So far, they are failing, but in the end it might just work. If not, the color purple is the next thing that will be banned.

I am hovering right on the edge of the sim as I type this. I went to Help>About Second Life, and got this: You are at 235689.1, 249366.6, 71.7 in Sapphire Central located at sim3560.agni.lindenlab.com (64.129.46.71:12035) Apparently, the sim is a part of LL's network. I would guess that even if it was "hacked", all LL would have to do is pull the plug on the hacked machine. Also, If I understand correctly, the sims do not always run on exactly the same machines all the time. Servers are constantly being swapped. There is no guarantee that even a hacked sim will always run on the same hardware, in the same location all the time. I'm no networking expert, and I could be wrong. If there is actual, reputable evidence that you can cite here, please post a link to it. Edit: Ok, after thinking about this, I guess the post I quoted could be just a joke. _____________________
