Hi SecondLife has been freeze lagging lately (where u get under 1fps, then it goes back up to 85fps, then freezez again) and its really bugging me, i have a superb graphics card 1600MB RAM (about) and a speedy Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Processor, and SL is STILL laggy on my side. what is the bottleneck?

Let's just get this straight - you have a 1.6gb graphics card? Please post the brand name and model number.

Ah be nice, and I promise you'll never have to look at my simian likeness naked. Or nearly so.

Then the only other answer is that your computer is just shit.

Turn off the client and keep the pr0nz! You'll thank me in the long run.

Gee, it sounds like you may have bought a space shuttle. Try buying a computer next time.

Good luck

Hi Chaos,

I'm not a techy person, so can't really comment on the contents of plastic boxes.
I'm also presuming that this happens wherever you are so it's not sim related.
Maybe you could post your question in the technical forum with as much detail as possible.

Good luck :)

Actually, I was semi-serious. My intention was to get the point across that it could be multitasking doing it, though I was extremely vague.

Chaos, if you have alot of apps going, shut some down. I run 2 gigs of ram with a 512mb graphics card, and can still get bogged down by too many things. Try closing some things if you've got them going, and if that doesn't work, then maybe try benchmarking your computer to find the problem

Okiphia, going back and re-reading it, it seems to just be one person - I wasn't pointing at you. :)

I firmly believe that my posts were both accurate and useful. I stand by my posts.

Nothing's up. It's perfectly normal.

I have the same card and I had this briefly a couple of weeks ago, but not now. I updated my drivers not long ago - I am not sure but what that might've been the fix. I run the WL viewer.

This "freezing" thing has been going on ever since the Voice update. We HAD a JIRA issue running (VWR-2051) but golly, the Lindens thought it was too "confusing" to read all the comments (some 118 votes!) and closed it today. Hooray for LL, who decides that if an issue can't be solved, just closes it and calls it a day.

If you ignore problems and sweep them under the carpet, they usually go away.
