Well if it was because of that certain trolling thread the other day, don't worry about it. You weren't the only one that became more then frustrated. Only the second time I have ever used foul language in the forums and I would have gladly accepted a ban for it if I would have been caught before I self censored myself.

Your posts generally bring balance to the threads and will be missed.

I'll miss ya.

Come on back when you've smoothed your feathers (fur?).

(I almost did too but honestly, being able to chat with a Linden av to av on the changes helped immensely, I think. I feel prims lighter.)

Llamas are fuzzy wuzzies- not feahtered or shelled - unless of course its a llama on a half shelf...

unrelated to llamas on shells... but an excuse for a llama pic:

Lol made me smile - so was worth my public fluff.

I did go in and change it to fur, once I realised llama and tortoise are different er, everythings.

I don't think you've really been offensive from what I've read but do take a break if you feel you need to regroup. There are certainly many others I'd much rather take a permanent break from the forums rather than yourself ... lol ;)

I've noticed I've gotten short-sighted, assumptive, impatient and rash when posting on these threads of late. I don't like my own attitude and, moreover, I don't like the way I've come off to others.

So, I'm taking a break. Between the trolls, griefing alts and, shall we say, certain less than helpful residents, I think I'm turning into one of those myself at times. I need to stay out of this place for a good while, regain my composure, get back to a place where I know who I am and feel good about it again.

To anyone I've offended in the slightest, my apologies. It wasn't my intention.

very slight... but Thank You.

This is not directed to you, but to the general posting population.

Occasionally get sidetracked posting new products, and read a few threads, and feel compelled to respond. The weeks I've spent in forum responding are generally the worst weeks of SL life.

There's a "stickiness" that attaches....it includes being judged, being the judge...being overanalyzed, being the analyzer....being misinterpreted, being the interpreter....harshness, cynicism, callousness...just to name a few...not just as recipient, but as giver too. All products of having to rely on written word only, and the mechanics and politics of a group responding. I'm sure there is some label for it as it relates to message boards, in a psychology manual somewhere.

If you are exposed to it every day...you carry it with you....into SL....(would hope you don't carry it into RL, but would assume some do). As you go about your day in SL...that stickiness effects you. You are more aware of the judging, the analyzing, the propensity to be misinterpreted...and your guard is up.

If you're moving about SL (or RL) without your guard up...you're more likely to experience people and things at their most basic core value, without analyzing, without judging....and that's a very rewarding way to go about life.

Doubt that those of you who are here every day notice it. From the comments above...it appears not. As someone who pops in and out....I certainly do notice it. A break would do a number of people a world of good....shed the stickiness for a few weeks, and enjoy SL for it's true value. Walk about without judging, without overanalyzing, without misinterpreting, and free your mind from feeling that done to you......and the cynicism and callousness will fade away.

Enjoy your break :)

Then come back here and complain about being let down, disappointed, lied to and cheated.

I deal with that during a good portion of a RL day in a cut throat business. My choice was to disregard it in SL, and refer back to a more "wholesome" atmosphere. It's worked perfectly for over two years.....not naivete, but enlightenment and growth.....which can be taken back and applied to RL. Win/Win.

And before you knock "wholesome"......in SL, you can pick and choose what you want to be surrounded with, with a few clicks of the button....pretty darn good control system there.....and don't you know, there are some control systems in RL that allow you to do the same thing.......Who Knew.

You sound like my wife, who reads too many chick self-help magazines and tries to pretend things don't exist if she doesn't like them.

Thanks From Ghosty
03-26-2009 10:59
Ghosty has read everything here, and asked me to let you all he is very appreciative of all your well wishes. If anyone wants to say hi to him, he is still inworld, same happy, helpful llama that he always is, just staying away from the Forum for a while and concentrating on his artwork.

Oh and Brenda? He absolutely won't be posting as an alt here instead. He's a man of his word, as I have learned and when he says something, he means it. He'll leave that drama to others :)

@ Micky - a lot of wise, sensible commentary. Thanks for that.
