Well I was over my nieces shoulder seeing what the heck is she doing and asked her to try.
She is age verified has no premium account and went right in I closed her down.

I can't think of anyone who might fit that description......*whistles*
Me either, in fact it was a stretch to come up with a hypothetical.

Wait... do teen-gridders simply not use the forums? No one who posts here is on the TG, are they?

TG has their own forums. Put in a support ticket. :-)

there is no mention on being pg anywhere in the guidelines

LL themselves cannot provide a definition of what they consider pg so i go by the MPAA, the ones who started the whole PG thing in the first place

try checking community standards...

Global Standards, Local Ratings
All areas of Second Life, including the www.secondlife.com website and the Second Life Forums, adhere to the same Community Standards. Locations within Second Life are noted as Safe or Unsafe and rated Mature (M) or non-Mature (PG), and behavior must conform to the local ratings. Any unrated area of Second Life or the Second Life website should be considered non-Mature (PG).

There IS a teen grid forum. Are you sure it was THIS forum?

If you're on the teen grid and you go to http://forums.secondlife.com you will end up on another forum, and not this one. likewise we can not see the teen grid forum. I remember a post on the blog by a teen grider and when I followed the link I got a not allowed message.

One time a teen grid resident ended up here and made a post to the effect of "why am I here and not my normal forums" so glitches still can happen.

BTW i think this might be part of the reason that the forum has not been updated... they might have some heavy mods to the forum code that they haven't had time to port to the newest VB code. (wild guess)

The teens have a separate forum to this one.
However, it wouldn't really bother me if teens got to see these ones...believe me, some of the discussions we had in school and on the internet is nothing compared to this stuff. Some of the stuff I've heard my little brother come out with shocks even me lol.

Any Teen roaming around the 'Net is going to see far worse than anything written in these forms - probably on their MySpace or Bebo pages.

Look at it this way - if anything you've written surprises some young friend or relative who knows your SL name, then you've contributed to a most necessary stage of their development in realising that those boring old grownups actually DO have some fun now and then. ;)

Even if the Teens aren't supposed to be here, I'm wondering if maybe they *should* be allowed access.

Setting aside Resident Answers for the nonce, the other forums seem as if they could be useful for Teen Gridders. Maybe once in a while Scripting Tips talks about making Networked Primbits for the BDSM-Gor-Furry set, but I think on balance it could benefit the TGers without much cramping the style of adult participants.

And really, most of the threads on Resident Answers would be fine, too. And individual posts: most are very PG because to be remotely useful, the forum just has to be worksafe, at least.

On the other hand, it's reasonable that "adult" subjects come up sometimes in connection with an adult platform, so it's not as if such things abuse the forums charter. And adults should have somewhere they can discuss those topics without having to worry what Junior is reading by or about Dear Ol' Mum.

Dunno if separate "Resident Answers" (with Teen access) and "Resident Answers: Mature" would make sense... or if RA:M is really "General Discussion." (Sometimes there are actual resident questions about those Networked Primbits.)

(Just anticipating that inevitable "think of teh childrnz" post: Being very public, the forums would not likely become a pedophile pandering area, were it known that teens might participate.)

I think the whole trick is not to say, do or admit to anything you'd be embarrassed about or wouldnt want to explain to someone. ;)

"Yes son, I enjoy dressing up as a female avatar & talking dirty to men in exchange for virtual money. Your grandfather is one of my biggest clients!" ..... years of therapy ensue. :D

What people ALWAYS forget- there is no such thing as privacy on the Interwebs.

My niece is staying with me and I set her up on the Teen Grid. I watched as she logged into the Forum (link on the Community page) and it was a Teen Resident Answers Forum. It looked very similar, but definitely was not this Forum. For one thing, there were very few posts, relatively speaking.
