First, I cant believe this still even happens. The whole "buddy list disappearing" thing. I thought we fixed that. Yet every now and again, hippos eat my friends. There used to be a way around this but now it doesn't seem to work sometimes (wait for a person to log off or log on). Yay, lets keep going.
I'm constantly having my character TP straight into a crash. No reason for it either. Atleast 1 out of 3 TPs make me crash. Of course, seeing the signs, you can't hit cancel to fix it. Even if I'm in the middle of a WORKING TP I crash if I cancel out of it. What the hell? Well, they must be taking care of more..."important" issues. Moving on.
Anyone ever get the "Clothing Still Downloading"? It never seems to finish downloading, does it? Anti-Ruthing balls don't fix it. Going into appearance doesn't fix it. Attaching completely different things then returning to your normal avi doesn't work...gah.
Please tell me atleast ONE of these is being fixed, or there is a way around it.

If your Groups list is loading and your friends are in a group with you, try sending a group notice.
Other than that ... yep! That old familiar feeling is back!

Have you tried changing your 'active group'? Sometimes that fixes it.

It worked fine if the router were reset, but any BITTORRENT client killed SL. Turned out, it was the cable modem. Our ISP replaced it for free. Been fine since.

my friends and i are working on a theory for the crash on tp. We find it happens more often when we copme from somewhere we have been listening to music. Before you tp turn off your streaming.... this seems to help... so far we have less crashes... this may however be coincidence... and we have only been testing it for a day

Wow, good tip to turn off the music...I'll definitely try that!
In addition to the issues above, I've also had scripts that suddenly quit working, unable to delete rezzed prims, unable to view my own notecards, and inability to build on my own land.
Group voice conferences not working is really big pain for me!!!

I can get my friends list to appear by checking the box allowing someone to see me on the map. That seemed to refresh the friends list. Just remember to uncheck the box unless you want your friend to be able to map you.

It seems as if logging off with the music playing makes it take much longer to quit.

Just remember to uncheck the box unless you want your friend to be able to map you. They "fixed" this trick with the new "optional" viewer. It is mandatory to download it, though, if you wish to continue using Windlight. Hah, optional. Oh, and "fixed" = that "checking the box/unchecking the box" doesn't work anymore.

Hippos Ate My Friends is going to be the title of Trout's autobiography.

From: Miriam Belfire Based on your signature, that might be an interesting read. If I didn't think it was interesting, I'd just make up stuff until it was. Chapter 1: Trout is forced to retire from the Russian Cosmonaut program due to a bad knee, but manages to steal the Red Army's prize jet fighter technology that lets Clint Eastwood drive an airplane telepathically. Chapter 2: Trout accidentally blows up a hotel in Vegas after eating scrambled eggs off of a naked stripper's belly in his room, but dives 15 stories into the swimming pool and barely escapes with his life...again. Trout falls in love with Lindal, and Oryx, and Brenda, and Ann, and Colette, and Lexxi, and Kira, and 3Ring, and Cherry, and Amaranthim and, and and and and........ Etc., etc., etc. It should be entertaining.

While sipping a dry sherry, I causally glanced up and spotted some menacing hippos wandering in my general direction. I shrugged and continued to examine the obviously raging manhood barely concealed in the skin-tight shorts of the pool boy.
I then heard screams and loud munching sounds.
"I hate when people eat loudly," I purr into pool boys ear.

From: Ann Launay Um, Bollywood vid?
I'm fourth? FOURTH?! *pouts* Yeah - but you're the only one I've ever considered marrying. Besides, I said "and" not "then". Maybe I fell in love with all of you at once. It was a tie. But...um...you'll always be first in my heart. Oooh! Look! Over there! A mouse! /me waits until Ann turns to look, then bolts for an open window and dives out. Wishes he'd remembered he was on the third story. Lands in a rosebush. Tumbles down the hillside. Off a cliff...bounces off rocks...into the ocean...eaten by sharks. I think I'll call this Chapter 4.

That's great. It's like I'm a cross between Chuck Yeager and Wile E. Coyote. I'm just not sure that's a safe combination, but it should be entertaining, to say the least. Top Gun meets ACME rocket-powered roller skates.
Ann, that picture cracks me up. I think it's the bow on the mouse. It's like you're eating someone's pet. I'm disturbed with myself for finding that to be hysterically funny, but I do.
Roisin - I'm easy to find now that I'm back in SL and my non-existent home PC woes have been cured. Barring RL conflicts, I'm on pretty much every night.

From: Ann Launay I'm fourth? FOURTH?! *pouts* *squints at list* Hmmpf! Trout obviously thinks I am actually a guy, probably because of things like this: From: Fand Aeon I have been finding the same thing. If I have music on and stay somewhere for any length of time I crash. This will particularly be an issue with lower-end systems that don't have a lot of memory, because streaming music will chew up some memory -not a huge amount, but on my 512MB laptop it's noticable. Sometimes that is just enough to cause the system to swap (particularly if the PC falls behind in playing the music), and on a laptop swapping will usually lead to a redmap error (lost connection w/server) or crash. I find it helps, if I'm at a party, to occasionally turn off music for 20 seconds or so (lets the OS free the memory), and then restart it. As for Trout ... *blows a raspberry gently in his ear*

From: Ann Launay I'm fourth? FOURTH?! *pouts* At least your are 4th, I am 7th on the list. I am going to have to figure out when and where to give him that kiss then maybe, just maybe he will boost me up to #6. /me waits patiently in line while twiddling her thumbs. Hoping the rest of the girls don't wear him out before he gets this far down the line. Oh hum boredom has set in. Wait there is a cute little mouse over there, now where is my "Luv Ring" so I can rez a few pixel humping pose balls. Cringe, that's right it is lost in "Object not in inventory" heaven. Oh well, where is that cheap wine. Has a glass while filing her nails to make them nice and sharp for when she drags them down his back.
