I like threads that have been started today, so here is another question ...
Why did you select the first name you use?

Elora, is sort of close to my real first name, a version of it, twisted around. It's also the name of the princess baby in the movie "Willow", which is one of my favorite films. I just happened to always like the sound of it. There were other names I liked, I used them for my alts instead, but I wanted my main Av to be closely tied to who my RL self is, and Elora is as close as it gets.

First Name is my own, last name is that of someone that held a special place in my life at one time.

My chestnuts were roasting on an open fire, so I chose a name to help me cool down. :)

Ange is my real name...well nickname, short for Angela. I find most people pronounce it "Angie", which it's not...it's pronounced like Angela, but without the "la"...and I just liked the way Jacobus sounded the best after it of all the surnames available when I signed up.

Fly fishing for trout has a passion of mine ever since my dad handed me a flyrod and taught me to cast. I made a few bucks here and there through college taking people up to the high mountain lakes and streams of the Cascades and at that time, "Trout" was a nickname. Nobody ever calls me that anymore, but I always sort of liked it, and it reminds me of the places I love the most - those little mountain lakes and streams that you hike into, right where the trees give way to alpine scrub. I love it up there - the air is perfectly clean and cold, and you can go a whole day in perfect solitude, stalking wild fish, watching deer and elk come to the water's edge to drink, or just looking at the glaciers on the mountain turn red and orange as the sun rises or sets.

"Trout" makes me happy.

My first name is what I use as my username everywhere online (with additions is it's taken). None of the available last names particularly jumped out at me, so I picked one that looked sort of like my cat's name (Abe).

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I hate it when the name you want is taken. Just hate it.

I'd also point out that while you can pick your friends and you can pick your name, it's not appropriate to pick your nose.

I made up my name back in the late 80's. I just wanted something easy to type and figured useing the A,S & Z key in some way would be pretty easy since they are all right next to each other. So playing around with them I came up with Zazas. It also had a good sound the way I said it (not like the famous Gabor). I say it pronounced like... Zaw zuss (the last part like us). And out of all the last names Oz was the best choice to go with it. :)

When little, I used to always complain to my mom about my name - Isabelle. I thought it to be so common (Québec). At the time, there were two or three in every class. She got real angry once and told me to change it if I didn't like. Now older, I realize as a mother she must have thought long and hard before deciding on the name and it probably hurt her to know I didn't like it. I just always thought Isabeau fit me better. Then I saw LadyHawke and thought, 'exactly, she looks just like me' hehe

@Orix, I loved that book!

@Elora, Awww 'Willow', also one of my favourites...

@Jig, every time I read your name, a certain song fills my head. I'm not sure what the exact words are but it goes something like this, ' Jig Chippewa, Jig Chippewa, Jig Jig Chiwa'
It drives me crazy, (in a good way). I so want to know what the song is... I think it's from an old movie with Dick Van Dyke. Anyway, it makes me smile.

I made it up myself. Since I dabble in the scientific and I am fascinated by Super cooled liquids (liquid oxygen and nitrogen) I have often heard of Super conductuors that transmit signals faster than normal copper and gold. I figured the next evolution in coductors hasn't been discovered yet so I came up with Conductor-X. For the Unknown.

The "G" in my signature is because of a nickname I picked up in high school.. Big G. Even though I only wieghed 95 lbs soaking wet.

"G" (I really am big G now)

OMG Trout! Hahahahahaha
I loved the polka-dot vest he's wearing. Very spiffy! I'm sure one could find the exact item in SL. For some reason, I picture you to look like the shaved- head guy.

I developed an interest in the Romanov dynasty years ago and loved the word for queen in Russian - Czarina (or Tsarina). I shortened it to Czari and it has been my nick in every online realm since the 80's (well except when I played EQ and an imposter already had my name *HRUMPHS*)

Why Rob? You'll have to ask my parents. That's what they named me in RL.

There were two available last names that were similar to my RL last name. I chose Howlett because that's Wolverine's name in X-Men.

From an old Cure song, one line of which contained the phrase "strange as angels." I whanged the two together to create Strangel, which I used here and there as a chat handle... unfortunately, it didn't occur to me to use a regular name rather than a handle on here, and people tend to mis-read it as "Strangle." ...But eh, what can ya do? ;)
