There are several stand-up comedians active in SL, can't for the life of me remember any names at the moment though.
But if you check the events listings inworld, you'll find them.
I was at a stand-up act last night while waiting for a live music gig and didn't understand what was going on, because I don't have voice installed. Wish they'd run their acts over a music stream myself.

/serious mode off

It costs money, and voice exists ... makes sense to use voice honey.

Yanno how you can fix that not hearing cos you don't have voice installed? ...

I for one am profoundly offended that you think we metaversians are funny. I mean this is the future, man. We NEED to fix Second Life before introducing comedy as a new feature. :-(

Sorry, I forgot that Second Life is how people will interact in the future, making actual physical contact unnecessary. All we need now is for someone to develop sufficiently advanced robots to shovel food into one end of us and waste away from the other, and we can live in virtual harmony forever. :D

God bless teh internets!

Deep down everyone knows Phillip wants to legally change his name to Neo. You mark my words, it'll happen.

I enjoy a good chuckle. Infact, that is my one simple pleasure in an otherwise dreary and back-breaking life. However, I've now read all 8 years worth of back articles on somethingawful.com

What will I do now!?

I notice there's very little to laugh it in Second Life; unless you include people who use the word "metaverse" while keeping a straight face. Given that the very concept of a virtual world inwhich people actually live and do business is, in itself, absurd, I would have thought there would be more comic happenings.

In short, does anyone know if there are any stand-up comedy venues or events in Second Life?

Thanks

Join the group W-Hat, SL's SA goon group. They're based in the sim What, and to a lesser extent Baku. Great bunch of people. We have crazy builds, avatars, absurdity and LOL.

Sorry, she's set to no-copy/no-mod/mo-trans

but hey, that's a good thing. Can you imagine having her in every newbie's Library?

we'd be getting posts constantly here...

Off-topic... but in the serious nature of this thread, I must ask...

Do metaversians think their metaverse is round or flat?
