Signs you spend too much time on SL

In RL:

1. You walk into the doctors office and wonder how many prims it took.

2. You check the tags on clothes - not for price, but for permissions.

3. You go to a concert and are amazed by the lack of lag.

4. You put something down and are amazed it's still there when you come back.

5. When getting dressed in the morning you stand in front of the mirror with your arms straight out for a minute before realizing you need to actually put on clothes.

6. When people cut you off on the highway, your mouse finger twitches.

7. You occasionally forget you really can't fly.

When watching a movie you try to alt+click and roll the camera to a better view.

When you have become bitter and cynical enough to respond to a thread like this by saying "when you've seen this thread a thousand times".

You watch - you'll see some people do it

When you drive past the local garden center and you think: "Hmmm ... some of those would be nice on my land ... wonder how many prims they are??"

when you wish you had SL's camera in other games...

typing "lol" in my emails at work........

When you imagine there's a sky platyform above your house.

Re the camera things - RL was looking through some of my SL snapshots of meeee and they actually tried to make me move. It was a photo, you RL dummy, not the real me!!!

1. When you spend hours thinking on how you'll get the RL "textures" you see everywhere into your SL buildings.

2. When you wonder who to get the flex from your rl shirt on your sl shirt.

3. When you spend most of your time out of world telling friends what happened in world.

4. When you cuss every time you realize you won't suddenly develop the ability to teleport.

5. When you walk through a large puddle and wonder why you're wet.

7. When you think "now what's it take to get my avatar's figure?" and then start a boot camp regime work out for yourself.

You try twitching your mouse hand leftwards when you want to go on a diet.

counting or trying to count prims on rl builds

seeing empty lots in the city and wondering how many prims it supports

trying to zoom in on a website (yes I know we can increase the font size, but I mean zoom like we do on SL)

trying to camera around on a website or other games

forgetting that you are responding to an email that doesn't pertain to SL and putting something in about RL, when the email is a RL type thing.

(there are more but can not think of them off hand)

these are things I really do...

I do not stand waiting for my clothes to go on, nor do I forget I can not fly, do not check clothes tags for permissions. do not wait for poseballs, or many other things I saw people put down in other threads.

I would like to see a thread of things people really do in their RL that is a carry over from SL

(and if you really do stand there waiting for clothes, or poseballs or the many other things that "I" think are silly, my sympathies and apologies go out to you, cuz dang it, you are more addicted than I am)

and I spend an easy 10 hours a day average in SL

Today at work i was looking for the location in the building of a meeting i wanted to attend.. i found myself wishing i could look at the minimap and see where the green dots were....

Oh god, yes, I do that too...

And then there are those moments when you see a plot of land up for sale and wonder how much tier it'll cost...

... or the ones when you see a group of people hanging around and you wonder how much the spot pays...

When you Refer to Logging In to SL as "Going Home".

I also swear I hear the IM noise at random times of the day.

Reading a (RL) newspaper and looking in the top right corner to see what time it is.

Addendum: When lots of dumb stuff happens and people at work are generally un-workable with and suddenly you think "Ah, well... what can one expect on a Wednesday...?"

(Weird side note: Wednesdays are really the weird ones in my job, which has become increasingly funny since I fell for SL. )

how about when you are at the grocery store, and it is very busy, and you have the overwhelming urge to run into people with the shopping cart, then just blame it on lag

(I soooo wish I could do that some days)

When someone is shoutin a name and you think "***king voice griefers!"

Instead of realising it's you they are shoutin at, and you've forgotten to respond to your RL name.

1. I would so love to freeze, eject and ban in RL!

2. I would so love to mute people in RL!

3. I wish money went as far in RL as in SL!

4. I wish people had profiles attached to them in RL..think of the time it would save!

5. I wish the house in RL would stay as clean as my house in SL!

But I do miss my dogs in SL...walking them everday is a really nice RL thing!
