I'm going to let my friend know. She's lost thousands of items, including half her business. If it's back, it'll be a big boost to her spirits, I can bet!

No unexpected goodies under my tree. I checked my main and my two most-used alts, and none had any new things in Lost and Found. Perhaps they are doing the database in sections? One can hope.

I've gotten rather stoic about invetory loss. While it's annoying and sometimes expensive to lose things, I normally just sigh and eventually replace what went AWOL.

Well I got back lots of random clutter and prims, some of them nearly 4 years old!!. The only significant thing/s I have lost however is L$14000 worth of textures I uploaded on May 17th 2008. They were in my inventory less than 24 hours in multiple folders and then the whole lot vanished. No sign of them returning although they have all been uploaded again since then so not like I needed them back.

So what I want to know is.... if LL have had the ability to to carry out this massive missing inventory recovery project then why the fuck has it taken them at least 4 years to do it!!!

They should be doing this stuff on a weekly basis as part of their standard support rather than once in a blue moon, then reporting it like they are doing us all a favour!

I've always been pro LL in the past and have put up with endless technical issue in support of the company. But this year they have severly gone down hill in my estimation. Technical and platform issues are one thing, but now they just seem to be incompetent at the most basic level and in all areas of their business.

I had a lot of things disappear on me back in January. I just checked and I'm not one of the fortunate. Would be nice if my living room set and canopy would return but at this point wouldn't even matter since I had to replace both of them months ago. I can't even remember what else got lost that time, there was so many little odds and ends, not even worth my mental energy.

i just wanted to post a followup that Min Fairweather rocks like gold! :D i did not get my teahouse back in "operation LL recovery" but she did replace it for me herself. now that's a totally cool thing to do. TOTALLY! and, it's copyable so if some wacky thing happens again, i'll just rez another! it seems such a simple little thing, but there was something about that little teahouse that i loved so much - the ambiance of it or something - that i created a whole mall about it, but then when i lost it i was really bummed. she makes good stuff's.... :)
thank you, Min. thank you thank you thank you!!!

Actually the login message all day yesterday was telling people they have recovered lots of items and to check your lost and found ;)

Does anyone actually read those? :P

Well one point that may have been missed is, this bug only affects attachments. So items lost which were rezzed in world likely won't be recovered by this effort. :(

A friend of mine has been having severe problems losing his AO's for the longest time and I always wondered how that could even be possible. We all know how obnoxious and tedious it is to even put one together so yeah I could imagine that if it was happening that it probably sucks reallyyyy bad to have to put one back together again. Then about a week ago he got all of them back and some other items in his lost & found folder and was wondering where they all went and why they all came back all of the sudden. I guess now I know why.

The thing is, a couple of days ago I was relogging and when I got back in-world I couldn't find my AO!!! I was so upset and panic stricken as it has so many poses and stuff loaded in it, some even that were no copy. I cleared my cache and relogged to see if I could find it and still there is no sign of it. I'm rather upset because like I said even if I rebuilt it which would take forever because I had like a million standing poses in that notecard, some of those poses were no copy, which means they're still in that lost AO! I'm just wondering when I should expect it to come back to me now :(. If I remember correctly my friend tried clearing his cache and stuff when he lost his and that still didn't solve the problem even though that's what they tell you to do.

Now someone mentioned that when you lose items like this it's because they have no "parent" folder. I recall my AO being in the standard "objects" folder... Does that folder not qualify as a "parent" folder? Or does a parent folder have to be something you create that's not one of the default folder's LL gives you?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on this matter.

I lost an entire folder in my inventory with hundreds of furnishings and stuff, about 2 days ago. It still hasn't been returned. I have a ticket open and am hoping for the best...

I did get my hummingbird and missing AO back, along with a couple small items. The interesting thing is, along with those I also got back a whole bunch of trash folder items that I had intentionally deleted from inword lol.

The first day that message appeared upon login I looked and found nothing.

Two days later my AKK horse Ole Paint was back! Yay!

Unfortunately I had already dropped another 2k on a new horse. :(

But better returned than lost forever thats my motto.

Actually in my year and a half on SL I have lost very very few items, a pair of pants, a multi tool I never used and my horse. So I guess I'm doing good.

99% of what I got back I didn't want anyways and the other 1% I din't even know I had lost :)
But good work regardless on their behalf, I'm sure some people are somewhat happier :)
