That really is crappy customer service indeed. Whether you should resize your feet etc becomes irrelevant in light of that.
Forgive me for adding my own rants, but they seem to be in line with the topic:
This reminds me of an experience my partner had today, he bought a skirt that was no mod, unfortunately it cut into the skin pretty bad, so he asked the creator if it was possible to get a mod version (having good experiences from other designers) and got the response.. "No fu***** way!" Woah. Customer service sure Blew Up in his face there.. Her continued arguing was similar to what I experienced on an alt - not wanting people to rip the object apart and copybot it. Fine, whatever, but ya know, she might wanna reconsider the tone she adresses her customers in..
When it happened to my alt, he.. um I.. found an awesome outfit based on an anime character. This is a particularly short alt, so I check permits, read the info notecard and make sure it's fully mod - the creator even says customers must be prepared to mod as it's made up of many prims. Finally I compare the swords appearance to the one in the anime, looks great, and I decide to dish out the money. So then I mod every piece as I put them on, it takes me forever, I finally get to the sword an.. um.. no mod. I IM the creator thinking it's a glitch, but no. She used the same excuse as mentioned above. When I point out the notecard said nothing of it I get a response equivalent to "oops". She was in no way willing to send me a mod version to make up for HER mistake, nor resize it for me. Of course I made sure to inform the friends I had hours earlier told of this "awesome store".. :/

Apparently the rules against naming and shaming aren't relevant anymore?
Guess LL doesn't acknowledge these forums anymore anyway. Carry on...

i dont see any response from any designers so thought i would reply i design and make ladies jewelry because its what i love to do ( and im really a guy in rl) before anyone asks this whole thing about mod or no mod is really difficult, some designers can be really funny about having their work changed as you could modify it into something that looks bad or better than the original item you purchased, i also agree strongly that you shouldnt have to alter your avi's appearance to get something to fit you my shape is no mod and finding shoes can be a nightmare but i tend to stick to designers that now use resizing scripts and i usually have to wear black shoes with black socks, i paid ------ for my shape and would rather walk around bare foot than even think of changing it. whats my point i dont really know , check before you buy anything i guess. IM the maker check first is one way, also you will find out if there nice or not 90 % of designers in sl will bend over backwards to help you if you ask them. to me customer service is the back bone of any buisness in sl without that why even bother to make anything, 50% of sales come from return customers and usually so do most custom orders. you will always have some that think they are better than everyone else its called EGO, find designers you like and they will treat you well customer loyalty is very important and like in reallife the customer is always right well 90% of the time remember sl is fun so enjoy my items are mod / transfer if you can copy my boots at 836 prims good luck loooool

I am a firm believer that shoes, hats, and hair should be mod.
Not everyone is human.
Not everyone decides to have a balanced shape.
I am also a firm believer in showing how one feels about a vendor by simply walking away and no longer feeding their coffers.
I've had perplexing experiences around no mod items in the past, and I've learned it's not worth arguing about it. While a vendor may purport a certain degree of customer service, they may not honour it. That too speaks volumes.
Thankfully there are far more vendors of male apparel than there were two years ago!

i do not buy nomod primwork, what kind of person can think their work is so damn good that they can afford to make it useless junk by setting it nomod? Resizing scripts are terrible, they add useless lag and most are the cookie cutter "one script per prim" type because the shoemaker has no fucking clue what he/she is doing anyway.
I want mod even if it's just so i can delete your junk resizing scripts.
The only reason i will buy prim stuffs is usually when i can't be bothered to spend the time to create my own version. Nomod is a no go.
The other day i bought an utility belt just to completely disassemble it to rebuilt it to fit my avatar. No matter how good it is, if it's nomod it's not a sale.

From: Sredni Eel Why should I resize my avatar just to fit some shoe maker's idea of "proper" size feet when my feet are already in proportion to my avatar? I was more than a bit riled by a similar experience during my first month in SL. Even though I never bought from the dealer or visited his shop since, I have learned, nevertheless, that size 0 feet are the only workable option for fitting prim boots and shoes. Unless there is an invisiprim enveloping the object, the polygons of a reasonably sized foot will protrude at some point in the most carefully designed footwear. Like a lot of others here, I get around the problem by keeping a shod version of the avatar shape with the requisite geisha feet which I replace with the normal, unshod shape before removing my shoes. It isn't an ideal solution by any means but it beats walking around with pointy little feet like Tinkerbell. From: Ciera Spyker 30~~~~!!!! O.o
case closed. Not by any means. I don't know where folk get the idea that there are acceptable 'norms' for 'Appearance' settings. It's all a question of how the sliders are balanced and a setting of 30 seems very, very reasonable for feet. None of my avs are exactly giants (well there's one big fat fella gets near enough to seven and a half feet tall) but anything less than 30 would look deformed on every one of them. It is perfectly feasible to have size 70 or even size 80 feet without them looking clownishly out of proportion. I'd argue it's possible to go all the way up to 100 with the right shape.

I've worn womens' shoes (pretty bright red stiletto pumps, no less!) for quite some time, simply because there were NO shoes that were acceptable to me in anyway available for males. Calling the avarage male shoes "clogs" was an understatement (I've worn clogs in RL for years as a kid). Battlecruiser was a closer reference. And I must say, I was pretty happy when finally some designers got the idea to make size 0 male shoes. So no need for the stilleto's anymore, but some fashionable boots from !Simone's.
Shoes for size 18-20 aren't a problem to wear, if they are designed well, but shoes sized 0 are problematic to wear for an avatar with size 20 feet. Sooo, I'm happy with my size 0 feet, and being able to wear any size shoes that look acceptable, instead of having size 20 feet and limiting my options. It's kinda like squeezing a 20 meter tall avatar through a 3 meter high door, versus a 2 meter tall avatar walking through a 30 meter high door.
Do these feet look bad when I'm barefeet? To answer that question: have you ever seen SL system feet that looked good? Ugly system feet are not a female exclusive problem. I'm still considering to buy some prim feet to cover the barefeet issue. I wonder if SLInk has some male feet in store.
