I know some clothing makers do have shoes you can mod, either because the perms are set to mod or, like LaPointe, puts in a resize menu, but GEEZ I got a pair of shoes from Kakaue and they weren't mod.
They were set to size ZERO, which I'm guessing my feet aren't, and of course don't fit. I IM'd the designer and they ARGUED with me that I should resize my feet. He/She doesn't believe in mod shoes because "my shoes would look ugly on bigger feet, and all other designers do this wrong."
The thing is in the notecard, it says "IM me with your shoe size and I'll gladly make you a pair that fits." What the notecard doesn't mention is the grief you get from this designer BEFORE they send you a new pair. I was actually told to stop whining because the new pair was free.
The fuck?
Get over yourself, idiot. I'm not resizing my avatar for YOUR shoes. JUST MAKE YOUR DAMNED SHOES MOD.
I will NOT recommend Kakaue shoes to anyone after this, simply because the maker is so belligerent and snobbish.
How DARE that person dictate how I should size my avatar?

In the designer's defense... I have seen quiet a few male avatars out there that have to stretch their shoes into rediculous looking boats to get them to fit their gigantic feet. A lot of guys over do it with bothe their shape and the stretching. If I was a shoe designer I would not want my stuff out there looking like canoes. Hopefully your shape is copy/mod... if so just make your feet zero and do a "save as" and call it something you will remember like My Shape Feet0. That way you can have your normal shape and switch over to the smaller feet when you need to because I guarantee you will end up buying more shoes later on that require size 0.

Actually, this is the first time I've run into this problem, and I have a lot of shoes.
Why should I resize my avatar just to fit some shoe maker's idea of "proper" size feet when my feet are already in proportion to my avatar?
I have them set at 30. Not exactly gunboats, but size zero is for smaller avatars.
Also, if you have something in the product notecard that says "I'll gladly make you a size that fits your feet", don't BITCH to the CUSTOMER and tell them they're doing it wrong with regards to how they decide to make their avatars look.

If you're hiding your feet with shoes anyway, why not make them size zero. Isn't it like setting your Linden hair to size zero before you put prim hair on?

Again, why should I resize my avatar because ONE designer says everyone else is doing it wrong? Their attitude was atrocious. I do go barefoot at times, and believe me size zero is TINY. I worked hard on my avatar to make it proportional. Also, if I sized my feet to zero, and wore the size zero shoes, I'd have to size down my entire avatar, because the feet would look miniscule.

According to the SL Wiki page on limits: From: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Limits Common shoe sizes - Most women's shoes are designed for a size 0 (zero) foot. Men's generally scale up to 14.

Well you should'nt... unless you want to wear the shoes bought. Just delete them and go on with your life if it bothers you that much. However... like I said before... if your shape is copy/mod then there is no reason you can't have 2 shapes (a regular feet shape and a small feet shape) and switch back and forth as needed. Women have to do it if they want to wear system skirts.

I actually have deleted them. It isn't the fact that they don't fit that bothers me. It's the attitude of the seller.
She was snarky and kept going on and on about how everyone else does it wrong, to the point where I had to mute her because "thank you, have a good day" wasn't enough of a hint to get her to stop talking to me.
Sellers: if you throw in a notecard that says clearly "I will resize this item for you", don't tell the buyer that they did things wrong with the way they sized their avatar before you send a newly resized item to that person.
Okay?
Or, here's a thought . . . If you refuse to make your shoes mod, and you detest the way others size their feet, don't include that notecard with your product. Just say "As is".

Yes I can see where that would be annoying.... especially after you just shelled out bucks to buy the shoes.

Did you get the notecard before buying the shoes? If so, then yes, you're totally justified.
But if not, why did you buy the shoes in the first place? If the seller doesn't tell me whether an object is modifiable, and I can't figure it out by using Buy, I go elsewhere.
Shoes, in particular, have been very difficult to get right, so I'm very careful with them. I believe that part of the problem is that shoes don't resize uniformly in all directions, whereas something like a belt or shirt cuff does. Or more precisely, if you have to shrink or enlarge a cuff radially so that it fits around your arm, the fact that it may also grow or shrink in width doesn't matter a whole lot. But with shoes, it does.

The notecard specifically says that she will send you the correct size if you give her your foot size.
What the notecard doesn't say is what terrible customer service she'll give you for being horrible enough to suggest that your feet aren't size zero. I wouldn't have bothered with the shoes if the notecard hadn't been explicit about getting a correctly sized pair from the seller.

I like shoes that have re-sizing scripts. I have never found re-sizing scripts much use in skirts or hair, but for shoes they seem to work well.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm normal sized (5' 6" as compared to "AMAZON SIZED" and size 0 feet are proportional for me. So, all shoes fit.

In the kinds of shoes I tend to wear, I can see a good reason for size 0. It makes it a lot easier to hide the parts with invisi-prims.
For the shoes that just go over the feet and hide them that way? I'd like to have my feet look more normal, please.

I'm relatively short, compared to most male avatars (only about 6'3" , but that's too tall for size zero feet. Just looks weird. I did size the feet down to a more "normal" 18, which is only about two clicks OVER what wiki says is the usual size for male feet. Anything smaller is just going to make them look awkward.

Since I knew myself I know that when it comes to wear shoes the best option is to put it to zero size, for both and women (I also have some female alts), shoemakers do it like that so your feets can be entirely hiden. I always use size zero and if i want to be barefeet i just do double click on my other shape, I think you are making a storm on a coup of water, just make a second shape and use the damn shoes

i was on xstreet this morning shopping and someone was complaining and giving someone a bad reviews about shoes not being mod..
I thought this thread may have been related but it isn't..
The person on the item i saw was saying the shoes were not mod because there was no rezise script in them..
I grabbed the freebie just to see for myself and they were mod.but you had to mod them from the tools hahahahahaa
i hope we don't see people getting used to mod being size scripts lol

The shoe size issue is almost entirely a male shape issue as it's size zero for almost 100% of female shoes. I agree that male avatars need shoes for feet larger than zero. It looks better.

From: Ciera Spyker 30~~~~!!!! O.o
case closed. I'm not a female avatar. Male avatar feet generally don't look good at 0, and as someone posted earlier, typical size for male avatar is around 18. I think sizing my feet down to zero from the 20 they are currently (I resized to see how it would look), would just make my feet look non existant. And again, this isn't about resizing. It's about the horrible customer service I received when I was simply following the SELLER'S directions to contact her with my shoe size so I could get shoes that fit. What I wasn't expecting from her was a lot of grief about how I was making my avatar incorrectly, and how all other designers are doing things wrong. I can post the logs here if you'd like. She really wasn't helpful at all.
