TIER went up, not purchase price.

From: Second Life Blog
At the same time, we will be increasing the upfront fee for brand new Openspaces from USD$250 to USD$375.

I think you are mistaken Yumi

Is it more valuable if no one can afford to buy it?

(Okay, fewer, for the pedants.)

Both tier and purchase price went up. Resale value is theoretically higher, but the increase in tier makes that increase marginal.

theoretically higher

How did you jump from Reality to Theoretically? is the same as buying something for 250 and now being able to sell it for 375?.....Where is the Theory part?

I wouldn't pay 375. Therefore it's theoretical.

You can't sell them for that much because of the increase in tier.

Class 4 estates have kept their value because of their lower tier costs.

your saying you CAN NOT sell them for that much, cuz the only choice is to buy them LL for MORE then you can get them on the secondary market?

Well duh, that is precisely what he's saying. What is the point of buying from someone else if you can get it direct from LL faster and cheaper? It has to be cheaper than LL's price. The only things worth more than LL's price are grandfathered full prim sims.

You have some real brass ones for sticking your unscrupulous neck out in here and flaunting the fact that you swoop on people's mistakes.

The one full of fail is you, because you've got some serious karma coming your way.

So will this be like the RL housing market - people who can no longer afford to make payments, selling for what they can get? Being forced to sell cheaper than LL's (new) base prices? Thereby driving actual value down while prices rise?

I rent, so I'm curious what the more experienced players think.

I wasn't sure if his name was ironical, until someone posted about his karma.

By then I was talking to other people anyway. (Not sure if your question was facetious.)

You know about transfer fees right? And delays, oh and tier. yes? You've heard of those concepts?

$100 transfer fee + $125 tier doesn't leave a fat lot does it?

Oh and let's not forget the blatantly obvious fact that the bottom has just fallen out of the openspace market!

How did you know. You been influencing them??? It's coming to something when your own bots prefer a sexy female and won't talk to you any more :(

Transfer fee on open sims is only 1/4th the normal sim price i think i read that in the blog post somewhere....

Not unless that changed recently:
From: someone
You can sell Openspaces to another Resident if you wish but the new owner will need to own an estate already to be eligible to own them. The normal transfer fee of $100/region will be charged to the seller.

What you may be referring to is:
From: someone
If you are transferring multiple Openspaces to the same person, the fees may be different for that transfer. For up to 4 Openspaces in the same transfer, the fee will be $100 total. After the first 4 Openspaces, the transfer fee is $100 per region.
