it was migrain and hard to breathe at times..not chest congestion but felt more like my lungs were smaller..and lots of up and down fever.. but you never felt like you could ever get enough sleep..it lasted about 7 to 8 days.. Except for the fever, that's what I've been dealing with this week. Coughed so hard and so often I think I pulled a muscle in my tummy because it still hurts. I doubt what I had is the swine flu, but there's definately something making the rounds early this year, and it's not fun. I stay drunk and whine a lot. Hehe that's my normal remedy.. works rather well. I Just need to stay off of SL when I do that though. Found some mysterious new friends and some torrid chat log the last time I didn't. _____________________

:0 been a bit sick myself this past week; think it was the seasonal weather changes setting in... dunno if it was a cold or flu, but i was majorly congested. :\ juices and vitamins and rest, as previously prescribed... also i'll add a remedy...
(warning! if you have a very sensitive stomach, do not try this...) get crackers, a slice of nice cheese (wheat thins and swiss are my faves), and a clove of garlic. peel and prep just one little piece of garlic, slicing it up into very small (but still finger-able) slices or bits, then eat these little garlic pieces along with crackers and slices of cheese (to help your mouth and tongue deal with the garlic ;0). certainly cleared up my congestion for a good 12 hours at a time. _____________________

I think I caught something, started last night. -_-
..what do I do? Sleep. Meds. Play SL. Sleep some more. Then more SL. Yeah..maybe not so good but... Living on cough drops now, helps a lot. Also drink a lot of orange juice to up your immune system, and tomato juice will help the throat. |

It didn't sit very well! I don't think I'll be trying that one again....lol _____________________

And kept vampires away for a 100 mile radius, I'm sure! ![]() ;0 and mosquitoes!! hehe yes, it is also a good natural bug repellent (but not good to do two or three days prior any dates ;0)... oy but yes, eating a whole 1/4 of a clove at once is not good, no matter your garlic-resistance. :\ just one small piece of it will do; don't overdo it! (if you have active ulcers or other digestive probs, definitely do not try it. IANAD lol ;0 - just poor and uninsured.)absolutely, it is not for everyone. my own stomach was a tad upset after doing so this past week... once upon a time i used to make this a regular weekly habit just for the immunity boost and bloodflow; it's best to do it semi-regularly so that you 'steel up' your insides for it. unfortunately i hadn't for a long time so was out of habit... i think i'll try to retake it up though for preventative measure's sake, 'specially with whatever new flues coming this way. _____________________

My little one is in Kindergarten,I swear he brings home every germ to me. Prezzies for his momma I guess. ![]() LOL! Who needs Germ Warfare when we have kids as carriers??? When my ex-fiancee worked as a bus monitor on the "short bus" she was ALWAYS sick. The lil' brats would cough/lick/spit/sneeze/drool on anyone & anything. Not to mention the "stuff" they'd pull from their pants to wipe on someone. It made me respect anyone who works with kids or on a school bus. _____________________

allergies: whatever the chemist gives me or nothing
stomach: crackers and warm flat 7 Up throat and cough: hot lemon and honey. I find it works better than anything over the counter plain old cold: water and ibuprofen, hotter than hell steam baths but I don't get my hair wet unless it is manky hot water bottles/ice packs are good for everything I don't go to the dr unless they make me. Those places are fester pools of germs ![]() ooh, I forgot: preventative: onion and garlic soup. All around health tonic in the winter, and steamed young rhubarb as soon as new growth is edible _____________________

I make noodles in chicken broth and throw in some chillis too... it ..umm...loosens everything up. ![]() wishing you a speedy recovery... |
