I don't work in an office environment and usually only log on at home so I am quite ignorant of how other people log on but I wonder how many people log on to SL and/or forums when they are at work? Anyone going to confess? Does the act of being online while at work make it seem more "dangerous"? Has anyone found you sneaking on-line?

I am primarily on SL while at work, that's how I found it in fact, bored at work one night. I'm allowed to do what I want during slow periods at work, which can sometimes be several hours, or occasionally almost the whole shift. My assistants find it amusing and somewhat strange. My boss even chipped in to help me buy a laptop, not sure if she knew what I wanted it for.

do not work outside the home, so I guess one could say yeah I log in from work, if being a housewife is considered work (and in my book it sure as hell is LOL)
if I worked outside the home, it would depend on the job, and the situation

only get into SL at home, can't even reach the forum from work, the company web use policy excludes anything remotely entertaining

I can't get in world from work as it is blocked at the firewall. I can get to the web site and forums - lunch time and break times if I wish to.

I work from home (not SL). Same computer for work and play. I don't "play" while working but can pop into the game quickly if need be to help a customer, etc. I take a break every so often to peruse the forums.

I'm not at work today, as we lefty mainland Europeans are celebrating International Workers' Day. Advance, comrades!
Well, I say celebrating... my right-on brethren will be taking to the streets in glorious demonstration, whereas I am putzing around my apartment looking to find cunning ways to be spectacularly lazy today.
I have SL installed on my work laptop, and it comes in handy when travelling and stuck in endless hotels. I don't log in when in the office, however, but I do access the forums.

I think most people at least log on to the forums from work. Haven't you noticed, there's always way more posting going on during the week than at weekends!

I'm a freelance web developer/designer and work from home. I sometimes have SL open while I'm working so I can take little breaks, other days I just wait until the work is done if I'm really busy. I think I've logged into SL every single day since I first rezzed.

I have SL on my work computer because my company is testing SL for training and conferencing. When I am online for the company, my avi wears a uniform and I use my real life real name inworld.
The forums is from work also but I am here as my "off work" self CX.

The last place I worked I couldn't even view the forum or website... "games" sites being blocked by the firewall and attempts to access them reported. Installing the viewer would be an absolute no-no. To be honest, I'd never even think of going in-world from work except during lunch. At the risk of sounded po-faced, I'm being paid to work, not hang out in SL.

I work from home, so the temptation to log in during 'working hours' (which are very flexi, I can work from 9 am to 5 pm some days, others 8 pm to midnight,) is great. However, I do so less than when I started.

I don't get many breaks to get on- unless a student is out or something but when ever I can I l check out the forums and log into movablelife.net to chat with a friend or two. I need to get my "fix" somehow...

I am at work now. I tried to run SL from here but the firewall said no. Call center work is boring when you get no calls.

Yep, I'm at work, as usual ridiculously distracted by the forums. On a lark, I installed SL on a flash drive here and found it actually works! Well, at least it works in terms of getting through the firewall. Unfortunately, the graphics on this machine just don't cut it. Then again, I doubt I'd access SL from work anyway - far too many interruptions

So um...you just like um...install the game to your flashdrive and plug it in the bus and wewtie wewt? I am not entirely sure what wewtie wewt means, but if you're asking if SL runs off a flash drive, yes, it does. It's a 1Gig stick which is barely dented by the little space SL takes up. I used the batch file that I found via one of the threads here that explained how to do this (so nothing is written and saved to the CPU or the network. It was rather simple, but once I got logged in, I got a message to inform me that my graphic card is not suitable. Ended up with minium settings and a fair bit of lag. I was however, able to slap a barely-dressed newbie who wanted to buy a condo and have sechs in the 10 seconds I was online to test this. So chat works just fine

Nope...I wouldn't dream of going into SL from a job. Before I moved south and bacame a bartender LOL I had a corporate job of sorts and I had my own little cool space and a computer and I spent my down time goofing off to a degree.....my boss would be on the other side of the wall laughing at me cause she could tell by the mouse clicks if I was playing a game. But...SL...never...if I'd been in SL then I would probably have checked the forums, but that's it. I wouldn't dream of trying to install it on a puter that wasn't 100% mine. As for now....I am home because I'm getting ready to relocate and I don't have 'work' other than packing, yard work... and all the stuff I do for my fiance while he's over seas. In reality I could work 12 hours a day if I wanted with all the shit I need to do,,,hehe. But actually... I don't even log into SL during the day for more than a few minutes....and at night only if I have a project I need to work on. At this point, I think I spend more time in the forums.

I do have SL installed on my computer at work. Firewall? What firewall? I work in a very small office where we are like a family and nobody cares. I hardly ever log on from there. The main reason I installed it was when I was buying my land and needed to have access to do the business transactions at a moments notice. Now, I do sometimes come inworld if my bosses are out to meetings, or first thing in the morning before anyone else comes in (I'm the only one who is ever on time). As for the Forum, I'm here all day long posting. My desk isn't near anyone else and I'm pretty good at minimizing quickly anyway
