Serious quandary here!
Like much of the US North West, I'm pretty much snowed in here in this town. I work at a branch office in a town 45 minutes away.

So, the question arises, when the prospect of spending extra time in-world is so very tantalizing, how do you deal with the SL addiction?
I have the good angel and bad angel sitting on my shoulders, whispering furiously.

What are all the North-Westeners doing?

B.

normally, I would kill for a snow day, but it wouldn't do me anygood - I can't get online anyway lol.
But I spose it would depend if it would significantly affect your work. Would it just get you all stressy to have one day off and have to catch up? hehe Or would you be able to have fun in world and catch up when you are all relaxed after a day off... ;)
I know which one I would choose... :p

In case you can't tell, Im playing the bad one...

Snow? What is this snow stuff? It was 0C - 32F when I woke up this morning and there was frost all over my car. I had to idle it for 10min to melt all that stuff off.

Sorry, Brann.. couldn't resist. We did have tornado and flash flood warnings Monday night when the front came through.

Brann, you can stay home. But first you have to go to the Slexchange and buy this. Wear it all day and cough every so often.

An unexpected day off will usually not add too much to my inworld time, maybe an extra hour or so. I have so much going on right now I don't have much extra SL time in any case.I might be on at times I'm not usually on, but that's about it. Last year, however, a snow day could find me logged in literally all day. It was a snow day that got me here in the first place.

I have the good angel and bad angel sitting on my shoulders, whispering furiously.
"I'll ask if the Devil needs a ride 'cause the angle on my right ain't hanging out with me tonight."

Line from a Nickleback song.

It was 75F Sunday. Monday we got a few flurries but the temp never got below 35F. We don't get snow days here. Maybe once every 5 years we have a delayed start but that's about it.

But for your question, Brann. The real go getters went in last night ahead of the snow. No matter what you do, your screwed. Stay home today and call in sick tomorrow too.

Sorry, darling, I ended up going in to the local office. While that makes me a partial hero, it results in a dearth of Fun-With-Max activities this afternoon.

Here's to hoping that my neighbour will plow my driveway while I'm at work. Or I may stand in front of my house and look helpless. Has known to work in the past.

Thanks for the shopping tip, Chris, but if I'm free to play in SL, I'm shopping at Insolence :D

Yosef, I'm confident enough to be able to admit to really liking that song, Nickelback or not!

There wasn't an option of go and play in the snow! That's what I would do and suggest........go back to bed, get up and get yourself some coffee, log in to SL for a little bit and then go play in the snow and come back and log back in after you have poopered yourself out! :D

Sounds like me, Saturday and Sunday I was wearing short pants and today I have to wear my leather coat and long sleeved shirt just to stay warm. Saturday looks like we will be back up to 75F to 80F again. (25C)

Hmm, around here (RL) it's not cool to admit you like Nickelback. I'm supposed to be all grown up and stuff, I think. Meanwhile, that song RAWKS (and may and may not remind me of my misspent youth....)

Nickleback? Aren't they the crew that looked like they wandered into a studio from a nearby lumber yard by mistake? Singer looks like, at best, an Afghan hound, and at worst, a Red Setter? Them?

I like Nickelback, too! One of my favorite "rock" groups at the moment, next to Daughtry.

My part of Pennsylvania has had very little snow this winter....<sob>

Although I hate driving in it, I wanted at least one good snowstorm, dump about a foot or so, that would justify not being able to get into work for at least one day. However, a "wintry mix" is about the best we got this winter, and as long as it's not 2 inches of solid ice, I at least have to make the attempt at that 20 minute drive. And when I make the attempt, it so happens that on the main roads things are fine so the "attempt" becomes actual and I end up at work. Dammit!

It's been a rainy winter here, not a snowy one.

For the record, a snow day would definitely involve more time on SL that day.

If I called in sick every time it snowed here, I think the boss would believe there was something seriously wrong with me - some kind of terminal disease. This has been one hell of a long, snowy winter.

/me doesn't like snow anymore. :(

I have the windows wide open to enjoy our bright, sunny 70 F day here in Los Angeles.

Oh, wait. You were asking people from the North East. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rub it in. :D

Better close those windows, your letting in all the LA smog, not to mention someone maybe casing your place for a robbery :)
