Sigh . . . Humans and their silly rituals. Do not confuse "celebrate" with "celibate."
I say we celebrate LIFE by enjoying it as the precious gift that it is, as often as possible, year round. I don't need a holiday or a belief system telling me when to feel joyful, or generous, or loving, or repentant, or any other feeling or emotion. My body does that on its own. Nor do I believe it is even possible to regiment my feelings in this way.
For others it IS possible though, from what I hear. To them I wish the most joyful, spiritual, and above all peaceful Christmas, celibate or otherwise.

It'd be OK, it's just that nobody's going to be in the mood.
The Geek's going to tumble into bed at about 4 am, after having spent the wee hours inserting Tab A into Slot B and rustling up batteries that weren't included...
I'm going to be frazzled from baking cookies, cooking a big dinner, entertaining all evening, shooing the cat off the dining table, kitchen counter, dining table, kitchen...
We're both going to be sleepy from too much food and too much eggnog and mulled wine...
I swear, next year we're going to abscond to Moorea right after Thanksgiving and not come home until January 5.

LOL And the Baptist won't "do it" standing up. They don't want to be accused of dancing.  I was born September 21st, dang near 9 months exactly after Christmas. I guess Dad got a little extra for Christmas that year.
